Overview

The Seagull Entourage Grand Parlor Acoustic-Electric Guitar offers an exceptional value for players of all levels. It's compact size recalls the shape and feel of a guitar from a hundred years ago, but that's where the comparison stops. This is a modern instrument with a modern neck, designed and built with the essential components of today's best hand-crafted guitars.

This finely crafted Canadian made instrument features select pressure tested solid cedar tops, wild cherry back & sides, cream double binding and the new Rustic Burst Custom Polished finish. Also this Entourage model features the Seagull Slim neck with a 1.72" nut width, which is great for players who are accustomed to a more traditional nut width.

Apart from the slim neck, the sound is what will surprise you. This Seagull Entourage Grand Parlor guitar is loud, with a strong midrange that makes it appropriate for just about any style, whether it's blues, swing, or folk. Add to that its portable size and you've got a guitar you'll want to take along wherever you go.

This guitar has the Godin QI pickup and preamp system.

Godin QI
The Godin EPM Quantum acoustic guitar system is simple in design and outstanding in performance. This single source system features an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer carefully matched to side mount electronics with rotary volume, bass, and treble controls. The electronics and controls are packaged in a small and easy to use format complemented with a finely crafted pewter cover plate. In combination with the transducer, the EQ control range and frequency content have been specifically contoured to provide a very rich and full sound reproduction resulting in performance seen only in far more complex systems.

The Godin Q1 also includes a built-in high quality digital chromatic tuner with LED display. Case sold separately.

Comments about Seagull Entourage Grand Parlor Acoustic-Electric Parlor Guitar:

I had been on the search for a $300-600 guitar to upgrade me from my cheap little starter. I wanted good sound, but comfort as well. I first picked up a Yamaha FGX700. I loved the sound; rich and deep, but it was a large dreadnought. I found it very uncomfortable after about 20-30 minutes of playing.

I exchanged it for a wonderful sounding Seagull S6 Spruce. I loved it! Seagull sold me with their quality and sound. But....even though it was a bit smaller of a dreadnought than the Yammy, I still had comfort issues with it, as I mostly sit down to play near my computer or on the couch.

It was then that I decided I wanted to get a significantly smaller guitar, and I picked this parlor up. The build is fantastic. It is incredibly light, stays very closely in tune, and actually has quite a powerful sound for being such a small body. It doesn't have the bass of the S6, but the sound is unique and bright! Comfort with great sound is what sold me. I have no regrets.

All I would have liked to see on this thing is an updated pickup system that is computer compatible (firewire/usb), a front guitar strap button, and edges that were rounded. I'm nitpicking here, but having rounded edges on the body of the guitar rather than seeing the two edges meet adds quite a bit to the comfort level. The action and strings are a bit more stiff than I'm used to, but this may be the nature of a smaller body guitar; I'm not sure.

If you're looking for a guitar that you can't put down / always want to pick up, this is the one.

I looked at this guitar many times and compared to other smaller guitars both online and in the GC store. I found a gig bag that fits like a glove. I am amazed at the quality of Seagull guitars.

Comments about Seagull Entourage Grand Parlor Acoustic-Electric Parlor Guitar:

I was looking for a smaller guitar for traveling. This one fills the bill 100%. I did a lot of research on smaller guitars in all price range. The sound and attention to detail sold me on Seagull. My next one will be the Grand concert. Nice to know that quality still exists, and I like the fact it's made in Canada, not offshore.

    Amazing Guitar for the Price!!!

    By Kenneth Lopez

Comments about Seagull Entourage Grand Parlor Acoustic-Electric Parlor Guitar:

I did a bit of research before buying a guitar. I'm 40 and percussionist but new to guitar instrument - just started to learn! My brother gave me an Ibanez Acoustic Elec. but the action was high and really bad for learning - it was a 6 yrs old and needed some work. I looked at others on CL but thought, "I'm no expert in guitars"... So I started looking into a NEW guitar instead. Looked at a few different models and when the nice guy at my local Guitar Center played this Seagull Acoustic, I couldn't help but notice the difference in sound! The action felt so good too for learning and even though it was about $100 more than I wanted to spend - I bought it on the spot! I couldn't be happier. I'm spending my free time learning on this guitar and very pleased with my purchase. I get compliments all the time on the sound, look and finish fo this Seagull. For an entry level, Affordable, Quality, Canadian made product - its a steal!

    Excellent Guitar!

    By TIMOTHY LEDFORD

Comments about Seagull Entourage Grand Parlor Acoustic-Electric Parlor Guitar:

I shopped around for several months and was prepared to pay much more for a quality parlor guitar, but fell in love with the tone and quality of the Seagull Entourage Rustic Parlor. Martin Folk Marquis silk and steel strings sound sweet on this guitar. The one I purchased does not have electronic, so I can't comment on the Q1 system.
