Comments about Seagull Entourage CW Black GT QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've only been playing guitar for a few months but wanted something I could grow into and after trying out many different guitars at the local shop I kept coming back to the seagull. The sound that comes out of this great looking guitar is the best I heard at this price point and I look forward to playing it for years to come.

Comments about Seagull Entourage CW Black GT QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar a few weeks ago, and I've been playing on it at least a few hours a day since I got it. This is really only a review of it's acoustic (non-electric) qualities. (We recently had a wiring problem and my amp and Fender Tele were fried as a result.)

The first thing I noticed picking it up was the the shorter scale, which is a little shorter than I was used to at 24.84 inches. It's not necessarily a detraction from the guitar, but, if you're a taller or lankier person, it will feel smaller in your hands.

The second thing I noticed was the tone and playability/action, which was easy across the fretboard. There were no buzzes or rough fretwires, nor were there any places that were out of tune with other strings. No truss rod adjustment was necessary.

The third thing I noticed was the sensitivity displayed across the dynamic spectrum. This is the first cedar-topped guitar I've owned, but there is such clarity in the softer, more piano range. This guitar absolutely rings when picking with fingers or a pick, even with strings that need to be changed. I've owned a solid-top spruce Seagull and Alvarez guitars, and neither could come close to matching this. It can handle a more aggressive strum, and, while it's plenty loud when you do, it "hits the wall" a little sooner than a spruce top might. Still, the warmth and clarit of tone is outstanding.

The finish on the guitar isn't the most impressive I've seen in this price range, but it isn't bad. The top is glossy; the back/sides have a flat or satiny finish, and you can feel the wood grain through the paint. (Seagull/Godin talk on their website about special finishes that are thin so the wood can 'sing' more freely. I guess that's what they're talking about.) The neck is a satin finish, and very smooth for quick action.

A lot of on-board tuners out there have a pretty wide tolerance for what they consider "in tune", but this one is accurate, easy to read and use. There is still plenty of bass and overall balance even with a cutaway, which is something I couldn't say for my old Alvarez. I have bent strings, jammed out, and waited until I absolutely had to change strings, and this guitar does not want to play out of tune. My previous Seagull was the same way, but these guitars stay in tune. I bought this Seagull because of the experience I had with them before, and I have not been let down. I was madly in love with a Martin D18 before I moved about a year ago, and, even after life got in the way of my budget for a new guitar, I sincerely believe this guitar sounds and plays just as well at a third of the price.

I would strongly recommend using a humidifier as this guitar's finish is thinner than most others. Also, the Godin strings than came on the guitar sounded pretty good, but I don't know what gauge they were. I put on some medium Martin SPs, and they sound great.

Comments about Seagull Entourage CW Black GT QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I already have 1 Seagull Entourage Rustic finish and, this guitar is just as wonderfull as the Rustic model. I really like the cutaway it makes the top frets more accessable and, the tone is just a little bit different than the non-cutaway but, it's a nice difference. Seagull really builds a GREAT guitar, if you haven't tried one you're missing out on a really nice playing, sweet sounding and a very affordable guitar. Highly recommended; Very satisfied musician.

Comments about Seagull Entourage CW Black GT QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

It's just like the S6 but it is black. Look online at the reviews the S6 is getting.

I bought this for my sons birthday. I played Seagull guitars years ago and I have always been impressed with the sound and overall quality.

I have many years of guitar experience and trainied with classical guitar as a music major in college.

In my opinion this guitar blows away most major brands in this price range including Martins and Taylor. Don't take my word for it, go down to your local guitar shop and compare it for yourself.

Replace the strings right away with Martin MSP4100 Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Strings and this guitar will come alive.

The top is cedar which means that you need to be a little more careful that is doesnt get dinged up. It has a nice warm sound though. Ok, YEAH… the back and sides are laminate but they are triple-ply which gives the guitar a really soild feel. Keep in mind what price range you are in.

When this guitar is plugged in it has a great sound...Much better than I expected. The built in tuner is an extra bonus.

Just like with any guitar - don't buy it because of the name brand… buy it because of how it sounds.

I have had this guitar for a while now and i love it more and more every time i pick it up or even look at it. i originally was looking at martins and taylors but when i was setting down a martin the black skinny head of this guitar caught my eye and once i picked it up i didnt put down in the store for at least an hour. for a about a week i kept going back to the store just to play it. finally i had enough money and bought it. Ever since then i have played at least two or three hours every day. i have never found a single thing wrong with this guitar and will love it every day that i own it. Let us just hope that it will with stand the test of time so that the fun never dies. BUY IF BEFORE THEY RUN OUT!!!!!!!

Comments about Seagull Entourage CW Black GT QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had my seagull for quite some time now and I've played the finish clean off it in some areas. It has a very rich tone, especially with Martin SP strings, and has opened up well over the time Ive had it. I gave it four rather than five stars for two reasons; first, the G string sound a bit dead when played open, and second, I wish it didn't have a cut away. Mostly because I think the low ends would be expressed better without one. Other than that it's a really great guitar that I would recommend to anyone.

          AMAZING ACOUSTIC

          By Peri Chain

          from New York

Comments about Seagull Entourage CW Black GT QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar for mom for her birthday and we both LOVE it!!! We had gone to Guitar Center multiple times to try out guitars but she was never really sure. However, when this one was in stock and on the wall we saw it and bought it. As soon as we played it for the first time it had great feel and sounded amazing! We new this was the one. After we purchased it we never looked back. Its great for her to sit in her room and play it acousticly, but when I play it on stage it has a great punch to where you barely need the amp, unless of course your playing against a whole band. Again it feels great and the finish is fantastic. There are no tuning problems to where it goes out of tune constantly but if you need to tune there's a built in one right on the guitar. Its a great buy and it will last a while!

Comments about Seagull Entourage CW Black GT QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

If you like your accoustic sound full of mid-range sound, then this guitar is for you. I was disappointed in the Bass string response. For a Dread. body there isn't that strong low-end gut feel. What I do like is the great sustain while strumming chords. Not too good for finger-pickers. And I guess what sold me was the neck. Very comfy for my short-fat fingers, and good action. Would be nice if the battery was mounted in a box . this one just connects by the 2-wire 9V plug. Cheap!
