Using computer modeling to optimize the internal bracing and soundhole design, the Seagull Grand represents an intriguing mix of traditional and innovative elements. Solid cedar top produces a very warm tone that's perfect for vocal accompaniment. Back and sides of environmentally-friendly wild cherry wood, produce a sound somewhere between the mellow tone of a mahogany and the bright resonance of maple. It's also an ecologically friendly choice. Silver leaf maple neck.

Comments about Seagull Coastline Grand Acoustic Guitar:
I've been playing guitar for about 7 years now however my entire family practiaclly plays so I have a wealth of information on good guitars and this has to be one of my favorites. I own 3 acoustic guitars including this one. I use my guitars based on the sound im going for. My Ovation acheives high pitches and sounds great live "as thats what ovations are designed for". My Ibanez is a larger body guitar that has great fidelity in the lower notes. This guitar however breaks all the boundaries. For it's size it packs a punch. By punch I mean it resonates so well. I also love the fretboard and the neck. The frets themselves are very slim so it takes very little pressure to produce a crisp note. The neck is nice and thin as well but also not to wide. If you want a guitar with a neck thats in between on girth then take this one for a test drive, I personally find it perfect. Overall this guitar is just flat out impressive for what it offers. The woods used in its build are all quality, the lacquer isn't thick to the point of cutting out sound, and its size makes it a perfect "Parlor Guitar" much like those used in the 30's. If you want my advice give it a try and stop by any Godin "Seagull's parent company" retailer. Overall 4 1/2 out of 5 stars on this one.
