    Sounds better than a Martin

Comments about Seagull Artist Mosaic Acoustic Guitar:

This is a great guitar. It rings, it sings, it has an all around great tone. It is a loud guitar.
I think it sounds better than a Martin.
This guitar sounds like my father's 1984 Gallagher Doc Watson.

Before you drop $2,500-$3,000 you might want to give Seagull a play.

Comments about Seagull Artist Mosaic Acoustic Guitar:

Played classical guitar many years ago, but have not touched a guitar for about 40 years (yes, 40)! Recently decided to purchase this model to learn something new. I love finger-style guitar, as one would imagine, and am enjoying doing so on this guitar. The instrument looks beautiful, seems well-constructed, and has a rich sound. I am considering replacing the stock strings with something else, but will have to consult with the store's guitar tech for suggestions. Only minor issue is that the guitar was advertised as including a tan TRIC case, but arrived with a black one, instead. I am partial to the tan colored one. Otherwise, I think the purchase was a good one at a decent price.

      Beautiful

      By Timothy

      from Portland, OR

Comments about Seagull Artist Mosaic Acoustic Guitar:

Absolutely beautiful tone, simple elegance. I love this guitar. Ever since playing the S6 decades ago, I keep coming back to the soft sound of the cedar top. Of course the artist is a vast improvement, both visually and sound-wise. The harmonics and natural ambient tones present during soft to medium (even to medium-strong) play are mesmerizing. I'm in the midst of a marathon search for the perfect guitar. And every time I pick something else up to compare (many of which are $2000-3000!), I come back to this model. My only concern would be that I really can't play at more than about 85% strength. Anything played at full strength--especially low strings--gets distorted sounding. This is, of course, by design since the flip side is the supreme harmonic overtones that ring out while fingerpicking (not present with other dreadnought wood types). The guitar is also the most lightly finished (semi-gloss) solid guitar I've played (lightly oiled). In college, I trashed the face of my S6 guitar (with the same Seagull finish) after years of aggressive picking/strumming. I play much lighter now, but for those looking to wail or bang around, look elsewhere. The flip side to the light finish is, of course, improved resonance and vibration overall. For those looking to warm a room or bathe in the sweet tones of a simple and playable guitar, this is your chance. This guitar sings.
