Seagull Coastline S6 GT QI Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar (516922)

Stage ready, fun to play, with a great burst finish!

The guitars that make up the Seagull Coastline series represent one of the world's outstanding values in acoustic guitars. The back and sides of the Coastline series models are made from a three-layer lamination of wild cherry wood. With a sound that lands somewhere between the mellow tone of a mahogany guitar and the bright sound of maple, wild cherry has proven itself to be an excellent tone wood. Grown locally, wild cherry is also an ecologically friendly choice. Coastline series guitars feature very smooth necks made from Silver Leaf Maple.

There is something classic about a sunburst finish on an acoustic guitar and it has always been a popular choice. The burst finish exudes some of the flash of the various brightly colored acoustics that are available these days but does so using earthy colors that retain the natural look of wood.

The Godin EPM Quantum acoustic guitar system is simple in design and outstanding in performance. This single source system features an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer carefully matched to side mount electronics with rotary volume, bass, and treble controls. The electronics and controls are packaged in a small and easy to use format complemented with a finely crafted pewter cover plate. In combination with the transducer, the EQ control range and frequency content have been specifically contoured to provide a very rich and full sound reproduction resulting in performance seen only in far more complex systems.

I've had my Seagull for almost 3 years now and it sounds as good, or better, than the day I bought it. The level of craftsmanship that went into this instrument is clearly evident. I looked at several different guitars including Taylors, Martins, Fenders, Gibsons, all of which were priced significantly higher, but just didn't play or sound as good as this Seagull. It plays very, very well for an acoustic guitar and the rich, warm tone is just what I wanted. Not to mention the finish is beautiful. I have played tons of guitars, and NONE have performed as well as my Seagull. Definitely worth the $, plus, you're not just paying for the word Taylor or Martin on the headstock....

  • Great Value! Great Tone!

As reviewed by GS-SeagullConvert on 9/29/2008

Buy this guitar...it is worth your $! I play this guitar at church with a Fender Acoustasonic DSP 30 amp. I used to use the built in effects on the amp, but this guitar has such a good tone that I don't use any effects at all anymore. The electronics are really simple and easy to use. The action comes just right from the factory...easy and fast to play, but no fretboard buzz problems. The quality and tone of this guitar are more comparable with other guitars that are more expensive. The people at SeaGull really know how to build a good guitar...plus the price is right! I would recommend this guitar.
