Surprisingly Great Bass!!
I've been playing bass for the better part of 18 yrs, and currently play a worked Spector 4 string. I was looking for a good 5 stringer, but didn't want to drop major cash for one. This mid-price point bass was where I started looking. My inital impression was that the bass had a surprisingly good feel and form. I loved the neck through body design for the added fullness of sound and sustain -this bass from the factory had action on it that some other basses will ever have - excellent, very quick action and playing. While it does only have the 2 band eq vise the 3 band, don't let that worry you, this bass sounds almost as good as my Spector does (at five times the cost) and actually has a fuller sound. You will never go wrong with EMG pick ups - the sound is full, fat, and chrisp at the same time. Bass has very good adjustability in its controls. In taking a micrometer to the neck, it did come slightly overbowed from the factory, but only slightly and in much better shape than most basses - very impressive. Out of the box this is more bass than 90% of the basses I've had or tried/played. The bridge is big, solid, and easy to set up.
I've had the bass for a couple of weeks now, and like it the more I play it. My Spector is getting lonely! The playability is great, sound is great, it isn't too heavy for a 5 stringer, I got an absolutely smokin deal on this thing, and I even like the way it looks.
For anyone considering this bass, don't be afriad to make the jump. Easily the best value bass I've come across, and superior performer in almost all areas. Couldn't be happier with it.

Schecter Elite-5
First of all you can play any style of music you want, from country to death metal, it is an awesome bass all around, and the black cherry color is awesome, and looks really heavy. I've tried every bass in this price range; this feels better, looks better, sounds better than anything I have evertried. BUY THIS BASS NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

The 'Elite' of Elites
Just from visiting periodically and messin' with one of these fine examples of a bass guitar has shown me a sort of 'light', if I may, of bass guitars of all varieties. It's as if the amplification units are unnecessary with this awesome piece of musical machinery. You hold it, and it just comforms to you like no other I've played. Then the sound quality reveals to you; This is no ordinary bass. I hooked it into one of the nearby Line-6 300W amps, and blasted it. It was like heaven despite the bleeding ears. Plus the Black Cherry gloss finish on this, I think, rivals those who manufacture Wal basses, Ian Waller and Steve. Can't wait to get my hands on it, for good. The recommendation from me is that you get you music playin' butt over to a GuitarCenter and play it. You'll be missing out if you don't.

Road Worthy
This past year, we used this bass for the choir I travelled with. There are three different guys that played it, including myself, and we all loved it. The sound is wonderful, especially with a good amp. One of the best things about this bass is that it's not very heavy, so standing for several hours is no problem with this bass. I plan on getting one for myself soon.

An incredible bass
I have only been playing bass for 2 years now, but after touring with a rock band for the last year, I have got to say this is the 2nd best bass I've ever held. The best is a Warwick, so you decide what you can afford. For the money, this thing sounds awesome, and it feels great in your hands.
