Schecter Custom 5

What caught my attention was the look of this bass. What kept my attention was the sound and playability. It's got a great neck for any size hands, awesome pickups (EMG's can be a bit noisy at times), and a price I couldn't walk away from. I've owned and played basses costing hundreds, even thousands more and this one stands out from the crowd! Not neccessarily the ideal recording bass, but for live gigs, this axe is now my road dawg.

Schecter all the way!

The Schecter Stiletto Custom-5 bass is by far the best bass I've played yet. The sound of it is great, and the feel of it is just amazing. Compared to the Stiletto Elite-5 bass, the feel and quality of this bass was by far better. The natural feel compared to the laquer feel is what got me, also. If your like me and like the natural wood feel going up and down the neck, this bass id just for you.

Great

I have had this bass for a little over a year. It was great right from the start but i had to get the neck adjusted about a month ago for $60. this bass has great pickups that sound great for anything from Iron Maiden to Pink Floyd to Queen to Rancid. The controls can change the tone very dramatically. the string spacing makes it possible to slap without hitting the B string. The neck is smooth and fast. this bass plays better than any Fenders or Rock Basses that i have played. It also out plays some $1000 Warwicks that I've played. Buy this bass then get it set up and you will not be disappointed.

Best in its price range

I have played almost every kind of bass out there from Warrior to Tobias to Fender and I have to say this is a really good bass for the cost. the EMG's give it a very deverse tonal range. If you are shopping for a guitar that is in the 500 to 600 dollar price range this is the one. I know its not neck through but almost anything in this price range that is has sacrificed in some other more critical area.
