New Review

By Nathan F

from Brighton, CO

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for about a year. I bought it because i loved A7X but wasn't expecting much, just a cheap knock off copy of Stnyster's guitar. After playing it I instantly knew that i was wrong. The pickups on this guitar just scream while you are playing. I especially liked the FR tremolo system. It is the best i have ever played. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who is an A7X fan or to anyone looking to play another awesome schecter guitar.

Best schecter I ever played!

By Greg

from Manassas,Virginia

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

I've been listening to Avenge Sevenfold since the day I "discoverd" them. And i've never thaught of schecter guitars being comfortable since I normally stick with Deans,Jacksons and Gibsons. But one day I decided to try something new and pulled down this axe. The quality of this thing is amazing the neck feels like its jsut part of me. You can run up and down the fretboard with ease thanks to the ebony fretboard. The inlays are to die for and the headstock with the skull design is just another plus this thing has.The body is unique but very playable the mahogany body makes it nice and heavy. Then last but not least is the orignal floyd rose that you can do dive bombs all day with I would defitnally recomend it to anybody wanting a high quality instrument.

best guitar for metal

By taylor

from grand rapids michigan

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

i have owned this guitar for around five months and this guitar is the best guitar i have played for any kind of rock or metal and it even handles blues very well. the first thing you notice of course is the paint job and the cool inlays, but when i picked up this guitar it has the most smooth playing and fast neck there is.the pickups also can handle very heavy amounts of distortion and are also have a very nice clean sound and the floyd rose is well, a floyd rose. you will not be disapointed in any way if you buy this guitar, SO GO GET ONE!

As Good As It Gets

By Ethan

from San Diego, CA

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

This is an amazing guitar. Frets, fretboard, and neck are very smooth, and the cutaway is such that it is no problem both reaching the 24th fret. This guitar is very fast and I find that I am able to sweep pick very easily on it. The edges on the guitar look a little sharp in the picture, but it is actually very comfortable to play both sitting and standing up. The paint job is very glossy and does not scratch easily. The custom Invaders are great pickups - very versatile since it has coil tapping. They have a great rhythm and lead tone, and when split, a beautiful clean tone. The Floyd Rose tremolo is awesome, you just have to make sure you have it set up right if you are changing up the tuning or string gauge. But once you have it set up properly, it practically never comes out of tune - mine stayed in for four months straight with me playing on it for at least an hour every day. The only thing I would change about the guitar is that it should come factory tuned to Drop D (because that's what Avenged Sevenfold pretty much always plays in) with Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom strings, but otherwise it's perfect.

Oh my lord...

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

This may be one of the greatest guitars I've ever played! The pickups are incredible! Of course, the paint job is fabulous, and the inlays are very cool. It has a great sound and feel to it (although the neck is slightly challenging to sweep with), and it is a great guitar.

Custom or Standard?

By Phil

from Miami, FL

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

WOW, this guitar is honestly meant for the devout A7X fan. Synester Gates is one of my favorite guitarists, and this custom rig truly captures his sound as much as possible from the guitarist end. The major difference between this custom and the other standards is the pick up. Seymour Duncan put an amazing set of pickups on this guitar that make the guitar worth it if you really want the A7X sound. But remember a guitar is often limited by the amp, I recommend Line 6 or Marshall to go along with this sick replica.

Great Guitar

By James

from Sacramento, CA

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

I just got this guitar a little over a week ago. As an owner of a Gibson Les Paul Standard, when I first went into GC to try this guitar out, I didn't have very high expectations. I was blown away. It is much easier to play on than my Les Paul, and the high notes are far more accessible for shredding. And despite the price, this guitar is heavy (made from mahogany), and just feels really nice to play on. It's tone is amazing. A very wide variety of tones can be achieved. It has the best metal sound of any guitar I've ever played, but also sounds better with the acoustic simulator on my Boss ME-25 than my Les Paul. The punk rock tone is really good as well, but I still favor my Les Paul for that, this one is just a little too heavy and dark, but unless you have something like a Gibson Les Paul Standard, you will still be very pleased with its punk rock ability to say in the least. I would recommend this guitar to anyone with any price range.

Wicked Axe

By Ethan

from San Diego, CA

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for about 3 months now, and i must say this guitar is about as close to perfect as it can get. The neck and fretboard are very smooth and make sliding and even moving up or down the neck a breeze. The guitar is incredibly versatile too. The guitar easily handles As I Lay Dying-type riffs and sounds great for Blues and all sorts of clean music as well, and of course it's great for Avenged Sevenfold. This is a great shred guitar too - the strings are very close to the fretboard which help get more sound out of tapping and hammer-ons/pull-offs, etc., and the higher frets are incredibly easy to access which helps so much with things like the speedpicking part at the end of the Beast and the Harlot solo. And for me at least, the sustain on this guitar is more or less identical to Syn's in A7X's albums for example like in the Seize the Day solo. I love the weight of this thing, it' s not so light that it feels cheap but not so heavy that it's uncomfortable to play standing up with a strap. The Floyd Rose tremolo is a nice touch to, it's really fun to play around with and is great for dive-bombing that you'll find in some songs. I like how you can make the notes go lower than their original sound too. And this stays in tune very well. I play for at least an hour and a half every day and do a lot of soloing and bending and stuff and I check the tuning every couple weeks just to make sure it's still in tune, which it usually is. I would recommend this guitar to anyone, regardless of their price range. If you're a big elitist, don't shy away from the fact that this only costs $$$$ when you could spend 5 times that on a Les Paul. Trust me, I have a also have a Les Paul. The sound and feel of this guitar are just as good (or better for metal) and it is way easier to shred and such on.
