one sweet 5 stringer

By

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Studio-5 Bass:

been playing 4 stringers forever, then I wanted to know what a the fuss was about. well, lemme tell you. this thing is SWEET. it gets down subbin so low, it pisses the drummers off LMAO. But seriously Im really happy with it. being my 1st 5er, I didnt want to spend a grand just in case. the electronics are excellent, hardware solid. the neck thru design gives awesome sustain. also the neck is smooth and didnt take long to start feeling right. I bought mine when GC had a special going and saved me a few bucks. TY GC YOU ROCK!!!! I LOVE this thing. Mine, in honey satin and gold tone hardware is beautiful. I love it so much, I bought the extended warranty for it. what does THAT tell you? yeah man, its THAT good. Schecter, you did GREAT here. GC, I'll be back.

Amazing!!!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Studio-5 Bass:

I saw this bass and I had to have it. I ordered the thru black model. This thing is simply the best instrument that I have ever owned. Set up was perfect out of the box. intonation was spot on. The EMG pickups are great and have a nice mid range presence. The eq controls offer a wide range of tonal opportunities. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a 5er south of a grand. It is pretty well balanced just a small amount of neck dive, but not enough to really complain about. It has a good weight to it in my opinion. It starts to feel heavy after a couple hours, but that is expected. I say buy it you won't be disappointed!

Makes me sounds good!

By

from Scottsdale, AZ

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Studio-5 Bass:

I was many years ago, a cellist. Well about two months ago I was asked to join a band here locally. Well, I had never played bass before, but figured I could give it a try. Well... I purchased a Ibenez 5 string from the store because of the price. But when I tried that bass for the first time I also tried the Schecter Studio 5. Well long story short, I took back the Ibenez a few days later and purchased the Schecter. It has great tone amazing sustain, and well even a cellist can sound good rocking it out! There is very little fret buzz and the pickups really punch in the mid-range. Now, I cant wait to get home and practice being a rockstar! I am very happy and you will be too! Christian

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Studio-5 Bass:

i got the honey satin one and i have to say it was smooth, sounds more like and heavy metal bass, but i can get a super cool funky sound, great for slapers ;D, the low B got a crunchi tone, pros: great pu, got a smooth neck, satin finish are so sexy, 3band EQ add a large sound versatile, great sustain, tuning machines stay tuned for days cons: clean the satin finish was a little hard, hardware dosent seem good like in the pics, thats all :)

Stiletto Studio-5 Bass

By

from Minneapolis, MN

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Studio-5 Bass:

I bought this bass a few months back to replace the 5 string I've had for 15 years. I did a lot of comparing and decided this was a good addition to my collection. This bas has some great options with the 3 tone knobs, unlike most basses. Even with the tone knobs I'd still recommend an actual EQ of sort to dial in the exact tone you want. This bass has a lot of punch and great low end response. If you are serious about finding a new bass to your liking, you should try to play them thru a setup much like what you normally play. This will avoid dissapointment later. The weight of this bass is not too heavy, you must realize its solid wood! This bass is perfectly balanced and is a dream to play. The neck is beautifull and smooth. It comes standard with with decent strings but I do not like them and will be replacing them soon. I have not yet recorded anything with this bass but it will be used soon. Playing this bass live has been nice, and im sure there are much better out there but for this price I believe this is near the top for most. The only thing I have a complaint about is the fact that it doesnt fit in a standard hard case. But this is very minor due to all the positives of this bass. Try it out and I'm sure you'll enjoy playing this well made bass.

Rawr.

By

from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Studio-5 Bass:

You want growl? You got it. You want boom? You got it. You want punch? You most certainly got it right here. This thing cuts through a mix like a hot knife through melted butter. The versatility on this thing is amazing, but I find myself using both pickups with the mids cranked and the bass boosted. This thing has TONS of midrange if you choose to use it. The action can be set anywhere from low to high, I like mine on the slightly higher side. Neck feels great, could play on it all day (and I have). Only drawback is a good bit of weight. If you don't like a ballsy, punchy sound, this bass isn't for you, so try it out!

OH HELL YES!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Studio-5 Bass:

this has got to be one of the best basses ive ever touched, the tone, playability and feel of the neck are absolutely gorgeous. this bass might have a buzz on cheaper amps but trust me its worthy of a high dollar amp. You cant find a bass any closer to custom shop quality for this price.

come on income tax return!!

By

from ashtabula,ohio

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Studio-5 Bass:

I tried out this thunder stick at ghe G.C. in Mayfield, Ohio. Coming off of a 12 year vacation from playing bass, when I'm spending my pesos, they need to be spent legitimately. I picked up a Jasmine 4 stringer A/E for jammin to c.d.'s and CMT. It is fun to play, and smooth, but limited. Schecter really pulled it off with this one. Excellent clarity, sustain, playability, tone, comfort, and affordability. When income tax return time rolls around, I'll be sleeping on the couch after I bring it home and show my wife.

Worth the money...

By

from LV, NV

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Studio-5 Bass:

This guitar is extremely awesome! I tried it at my local guitar center & I instantly fell in love. It has excellent sustain because of the neck through feature, and it has an awesome finish. I would recommend this bass over $1000 warwicks. That's how highly I think of this bass. Go to your local guitar center and try this bass. You won't be disappointed...
