Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Extreme-4 Bass:

Found this guitar originally in San Jose store- picked it and was GREAT- while playing- died. I then informed the Guitar Associate and gave HIM MY #. DAYS PASSED no call. Anderson finally helped me and he strove to find the missing bass. 4 days now passed. No call back. then on teh 5th day I FINALLY got a manager- they could not find it either- even though their inventory showed it. I walk into the store the following Monday- entered the Bass section- it was sitting right there on the floor! Still un repaired! Thus this special order.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Extreme-4 Bass:

Love this bass. It is my 4th one and my favorite to play. I have an Ibanez 1400 that I paid twice as much for and it doesn't have the sound or speed of this guitar. It's versatile with a thin neck and comes with Ernie Ball super slinkys my favorite string.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Extreme-4 Bass:

i've been playing bass for quite a while now. i've owned plenty of basses. this has been the best one though. you have to get active pickups. it suffered a fall at the hands of a band member and he paid for me to get a new guitar. i bought the nikki sixx schecter. both basses are awesome. probably won't buy any other brand (unless i ever get the money for a rickenbacker! haha)

        Great Bass

        By Ralph Zittkowski

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Extreme-4 Bass:

While not being an expert on this subject, I have had a Peavey foundation Bass for the last 20 years or so and decided it was time to crawl out of my hole and try something new. All I can say is I'm glad I did. Compared to the Peavey (which I know is a little different) i would say this axe is much more enjoyable to play.it sounds great, and is comfortable to hold too. I went to Guitar center and played about 12 different Bass' and this one got my vote. Very reasonably priced guitar and I think is well worth it.

        Wonderful bass

        By Anthony Skalas

        from St. Louis, MO

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Extreme-4 Bass:

This was my first bass. Everyone always gets a strong connection to their first instrument, but after 2 and a half years of owning it, it continues to amaze me every time I pick it up. With 24 frets, options are pretty much limitless, and the Schecter humbuckers that come with it haven't been replaced yet. This baby can handle low tunings very well, and I mean LOW. I've brought her down to Drop A a few times without sacrificing very much tone. The only concerns I have is that first, REPLACE THE STOCK STRINGS. They lost their punch after about a month. I'd recommend putting some low-gauge Elixr strings on there (That is, if you like the same punchy tone I do.) Also, the input on the bass tends to unscrew itself and come loose from time to time, but that only started happening after a year or so of owning it, and it's probably because I haven't tightened it good enough yet. Also, if you like a more classic sound, I wouldn't recommend this bass. It has a very bass-y low end, and the EQ sounds a little odd if you aren't playing anything Hard Rock or heavier. However, if you're playing in a metal band, this is the bass for you. The crunchy metal tone you can get out of it is unbelievable. All in all, I'd give the bass a 4/5, just because of a few minor issues and because the finish doesn't really stay too "new" looking.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Extreme-4 Bass:

I stopped playing a few years ago and had a Samick and a Cort both 4 strings and this guitar by far kicks both their butts. I put D'Addario nickel wound strings 45-105 and it sounds great i will buy nothing but Schecter

        Excellent Bass for the price!

        By Eric Ness

        from Baltimore, Maryland

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Extreme-4 Bass:

Let me start off by saying that I don't play bass. When my wife decided the rest of the family was having too much fun playing guitar, she decided to take up the bass. I've been down the road with starter equipment, and didn't want to go too low-end, but didn't want to over-spend either. This bass perfectly fit that need. If you're looking for a quality instrument and you don't want to break the bank to get there, this is it. You will not be disappointed. The tone is rock/hard rock, though th EQ gives a wide range of control, especially when combined with a good amp. This covers from relatively clean to very crunchy, though rock tones are its sweet spot. I am very impressed with the quality of the workmanship and the finish on this instrument. The pickups are great, the controls are smooth and clear. This has the look and feel of an instrument that could cost twice the price. The neck is thin, the action is low, and straight out of the box comfortable without having to tweak any string buzz out of it. Thre balance is decent, though as another reviewer pointed out, you might want to invest in strap locks. We've not had an issue with this, but I can see what that reviewer meant with regard to the pin placement on the bridge end. Having built guitars, I take a close look at how what I buy is put together, and where the shortcuts may have been made with components. I can't find anything at all to complain about with this bass. It is a tremendous value for the price and far exceeds the beginner instruments I've looked at with regard to quality of workmanship and components.

        simply amazing

        By robby

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Extreme-4 Bass:

this is the best bass i have ever played. EVER!! i own the red version and its just stunning how beautiful the bass is. extremely versatile, i use it for everything from jazz, to metal, to praise team at my church. it works for everything!! i highly recommend putting strap-locks on it though, the strap button at the bridge area is in a weird spot so the strap slips off easily. and the stock strings are terrible, i use ernie ball regular slinky's and they improved the sound immensly. other than that its an amazing bass.
