Excellent for the price

By Thomas Richard

from St Charles, MO

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stargazer 12 Electric Guitar:

If you wait fora coupon or sale, you'll get a fabulous deal on this thing. It comes perfectly set up out of the box. Unlike the Rickenbacker 360-12, each string is adjustable for intonation, although it is a little more difficult to intonate the octave strings (slider with a set screw, rather than just a screw). Fortunately, you don't have to worry about that, because Schecter sets them up before shipping. The intonation is great, as is the sound. The coil tap can be pulled on both neck and bridge pickups. If you want 60s jangle, just pull the tap on the bridge, and sing yourself eight miles high. Really amazing. The only con is that I wish it looked better. It's an average paint job with average binding. It does not have the classy look of a Ric. However, I think it plays very well, and definitely intonates better than a Ric. The sound duplicates what you hear on records, although that's subjective, and I haven't heard them side by side live, so take that for what it's worth. My six strings are PRS-SC250, a1978 LP Custom, and an American Strat Deluxe. This looks cheap by comparison, but plays and sounds great, so I didn't take stars off for that. If you need a cost effective 12 string for your Beatles set (my band's need), this is your ticket to ride.

Well Constructed Guitar

By Randy

from Port Orchard, Wa.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stargazer 12 Electric Guitar:

I recently picked up the Stargazer 12. This is my first experience with Schecter guitars. I found the guitar to be well made and thought out. It stays in tune rather well. Most of the money spent on this axe is in the guitar itself, not the electronics. The sound isn't bad but leaves a bit to be desired for me. The pots are cheap and the tone controls are poor. Not much variation in tone. I use "Tone Stylers" in my other guitars. They are worth the price. I will change the pick ups to a "Tone Zone" and a maybe try another one of the DiMarzio line. I currently use the "Super Distortions" at the neck (which are not distorted at all, just powerful) I am glad Schecter put their expense into the guitar body. The finish is flawless as well. That way you can upgrade the electronics to your taste and have a mighty fine instrument for the price. Solid body 12ۡs are hard to find. I only found 3 production models worth owning. The Schecter, the Duesenburg and the old 65-66 Fender 12ۡs. 700, 2000 and 4500 bucks respectively. The 700 was an easy decision. I am sure you wonۡt be unhappy with this purchase. I plays easy, well balanced and constructed, sounds and looks good as well.

Schecter Stargazer 12-string electric

By Jim Wilson

from Strongsville, Ohio

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stargazer 12 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a dream! Not only is it beautiful to look at but the sound is incredible. I use it in my band for those certain songs that use a 12-string and it has has that perfect 60's jangly sound. The price is great too! What a value! The other guitar makers of quality 12-string instruments like this charge just about double or even more for this type of quality 12-string. Totally happy with it!
