The SGR C-7 Electric Guitar has the design and features of 7-string Schecter guitars costing much more. The double-cutaway body is made of basswood with beveled edges for playing comfort. Its bolt-on maple neck has a rosewood fingerboard with 24 medium frets and an intricate Gothic Cross inlay at the 12th fret. SRG humbucking pickups and a Schecter tune-o-matic bridge offer the tones and sustain that make this guitar an exceptional value. Comes with a Schecter gigbag.
These high quality tuners feature a classic design in a lubricated and sealed housing to protect gears for a lifetime of maintenance free playability. Details include a 15:1 gear ratio for smooth and precise tuning, removable knobs, threaded hex peghead bushing, and a 10mm diameter peg hole.
The most common fretboard, Rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.
SGR pickups by Schecter Diamond Plus
Over wound coils with a Ceramic Magnet give this aggressive high output pickup the push that will send your Amp over the edge. Made for crunchy rhythms and blistering leads. Perfect for drop tunings. This pickup will cut through the mix with ease.
Maple has a uniform grain, it’s strong and stable, and it has less reaction from environmental changes than other hardwoods. Its tone is highly reflective, and focuses more energy onto the body wood. Maple transfers a bright tone to the body which complements the warm tones of a mahogany body

I ordered one of these bad boys and they were on back-order for about a month. I have to say that it was worth the wait. For the price, this is a really nice 7 string. It was in tune right out of the box, the action was great and the Diamond Plus pickups were not as bad as I thought they would be and actually generate a nice tone. It's a super comfortable guitar for any style of music. I was used to playing on an LTD M-17 7 string before I got the SGR and I was a little worried about the fatter neck, but it's virtually unnoticeable. I recommend this guitar for anyone making the transition to a 7-string or anyone on a budget. Good stuff, Schecter.
cheaply made good for a beginner maybe.
This guitar is amazing. It just came in the mail today as an early 18th birthday present and I could not be happier. The guitar required no set up out of the box, just to be tuned. The action is just to my liking, the strings are not overly tense, the intonation is great, the tuning pegs work amazingly and the guitar is overall, beautiful. The only thing I have an issue with is that the pickups are a little muddy, but nothing that can't be fixed with a simple pickup change. This would be great as a 'my first' in terms of 7 strings and if you decide to put a little work into it, it could be borderline pro quality. Great for metal out of the box. The guitar has a very, very solid build quality. It has a nice weight to it; not to heavy, not to light. It does not feel cheap. I would suggest this guitar to anybody and everybody. Thanks Schecter for making me a happy man!
