Lets start with some history, Schecter started as a high end company with no guitars under $2000 dollars but recently they have discovered ways to produce near the same quality for thousands less. The S-1 elite is an amazing example of Schecter's low price, yet awesome guitars. Ok now to the praises... I went into guitar center planning to get a schecter but played all types of guitars, and no gibson-including the les paul and Sg supreme- couldnt stand up to schecter. This guitar is a good mid-range schecter that has amazing sustain, stays in tune forever, blows you away distorted, and then susprises you with the warm, clean sound. I could go on forever but put shortly, if you want a versital guitar skip everyone else and head to the schecter section.

the guitar for metal mayhem

By rodger vengeance

from Baltimore

well ive had this guitar for a long while and i have to say its the best one i own. i play it all the time and since i love A7X its great for me becuase its got the same tone as Zacky's guitar because he plays the same thing so i highly recamend this guitar to anyone who loves metal or likes to play clean. the grover tuners and duncan pickups make this guitar worth all the money in the world so i suggest you go down to the nearest guitar center and play this beast!

Out of Nowhere!!!

By Mr.PlayMore

from Seattle, WA.

I went to the store, originally intending to buy a Fender Strat, and came home with this!!! Up until this point, I had thought the guitars looked good, but had never played one. I was REALLY surprised. This thing is versatile. You owe it to yourself to try one out.

Looks Great sounds OK

By Samoyed

from NY

My nephew has this guitar and I got the chance to play it extensively. It is VERY nice looking...just stellar. The medium jumbo frets are a welcome change from some of Schecter's super jumbo frets. A volume AND tone control for each PU would be nice. Now the Pickups...those crazy Duncan designed pickups. I simply hate them. The neck pickup is muddy..at least through a Crate amp which is notorious for not being very bright sounding. My nephew decided to get EMGs to get his, well whatever they call modern loud music sound. I had a C1 Elite with the same pickups. I sold it and got a Les Paul. I think this is a great guitar. It's just that the PUs don't do it justice. For those tech types, I would say that they are low output and the neck PU is all midrange. For the price U can't go wrong. The worst that could happen is that U replace the PUs.

Top Quality For You Money

By Guitar Man 1954

from Lubbock, Texas

I have been playing guitars for approx. 45 years. Recently I visited Guitar Center in Lubbock, Texas, where I had they the chance to play on a Schector S-1 Elite guitar. I found that no matter where you played on the neck, it was very easy to play. The guitar has a sound quality that is second to none. Also it is really a great looking guitar. I am hoping that very soon I will be able to purchase the guitar. As I said before, if a person want's a great guitar that sound's and look's good, the Schector S-1 Elite is the way to go.

awesome guitar

By loveguitars 20210

from Madison, WI

I bought this guitar about a year ago it its amazing. The pickups are great, it has a powerful, full sound to it when you play. I would say its good for almost any type of music, mabye geared a little more towards rock though. It is also a road-worthy guitar, so if your playing shows it will hold up really well even for weekly shows it will be awesome (As long as you take care of it obviously). It is an amazing sounding and looking guitar, I would highly recommend it.

Fantastic!

By sayWhaaaa?

from SoCal

The Schecter S-1 Elite is one of the finest guitars I have played. It is lightweight, easy to handle when resting on your lap, and is very versatile. It features a set neck, Gothic Crosses inlayed on the fretboard, and has a Single Coil Tap by lifting up the last Tone Control. It comes with 2 Dunlop Humbuckers and the S-1's beautiful body along with Ablone Inlay along the body and neck makes it hard not to look at. The Tone is fantastic, and makes a great guitar for any kind of genre of music. Overall, the Schecter S-1 Elite is a great guitar considering how much it is. To find this kind of quality in another kind of guitar, you would be paying hundreds of dollars more.

Superb Guitar

By That Guy

from Chicago, Illonois

This guitar is amazing! I Played it a while ago and shopped around a little more over the past few months but this one stuck with me it was better than some gibsons i played and has the sound i love, beefy tone but whiny enough to craft amazing sounding solos. Overall this guitar is superb and should cost way more than it does.

By Ray

from Yonkers N.Y

I purchased my S-1 elite on May 24 2007. It is by far the best guitar I have ever played or owned. I have had some nice guitars, Some of which include Jackson, Ibanez, epiphone, Esp & Kramer. The sound this guitar produces is amazing for the price. Rich tone nice shreds.I will without a doubt record and gig out with this guitar. Thanks to Jon at your Larchmont Ny. store for helping me make a good selection he was knowledgeable and friendly--you have a customer for life... This guitar is the best ive ever played so far,and for the price its the best value too.the elite stands up to the SG and maybe even the les paul.its got amazing distortion and a great clean channel.i play this on a marshall MG50DFX and i can get any sound i want from clean with alot of fx,to slayer.this guitar has a coil tap so you can take off some distortion by pulling the tone knob.for the sound, looks, playibility, value, and qaulity this guitar should be well into the thousands up there with the best!

The S-1 Pwns

By Torch21

from Boracay, Philippines

Ive played many guitars, and this one has stood out above all the rest. What really caught my attention was the low action it had without any of that annoying ring. The body design in itself is amazing as well, its not too thick or too skinny, so theres a happy median for you, and it doesnt mess with the tone, the guitar is perfect in almost every aspect. Prepare for the ultimate metal guitar

Great intermediate guitar!

By Anonymous

from Nowhere

The Schecter S-1 Elite is my second guitar, my first was a Squier Strat. I was amazed when I played it at the store. I wasn't supposedly getting it until September, but instead I got it yesterday. The Schecter sounds better than the Squier, but also is much easier to play and I can even play faster than before on it due to the smooth neck with some sort of finish that makes it feel way faster yet still accurate to play. I was also looking at a PRS SE Custom, but when I played the Schecter after it, the Schecter won. I also love the inlays of mother-of-pearl. They make the guitar look much, much more expensive than it is. I know that I will stay with this guitar for a long time and still love it.

The S1 elite is the way to go

By brnrubber302

from Maryland

I got the S1 elite about a month ago and havent ever been dissapointed with its great quality. Put this guitar up against any $1000-$1500 guitar and the schecter will win. The most amazing thing about this guitar in my opinion is the quiality of craftsmanship and strenth this guitar has. From the mother of pearl inlays to the golden schecter emblem on the head, this guitar is a winner. I usually play hard rock and metal but switch this thing over to a nice acoustic setting with some chouus on ur amp and it will blow your mind! Back to it's strength, the day after i got it I was playing at a gig. I handed the guitar to my friend to put on the stand for me. The guitar fell. I freaked out but i turns out that there was mo reason to. Even though te guitar fell directly on a tile floor and git right on the head there was not 1 scratch. Overall if your looking for an amazing guitar for a quite modest price, this is the guitar for you.
