Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Riot-5 Session 5 String Electric Bass Guitar:

You cannot find a better bass for under $700. You get a swamp ash body, EMG pickups, gotoh tuners, and many other pro features you would have to pay hundreds more for in other brands. This is by far the most versatile bass I have ever played; I can play jazz, metal, classic rock, or reggae on this thing and it all sounds equally amazing! Definitely better than the Ibanez I owned before. I 100% recommend it!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Riot-5 Session 5 String Electric Bass Guitar:

I tried one once and fell in love with the versatile tone and feel; sounds just as good as it looks. I definitely would recommend this bass to any player. The only downside is weight, the bass is pretty hefty so you might want to invest in a strap with a shoulder pad.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Riot-5 Session 5 String Electric Bass Guitar:

I've been using this bass for over a year at around 100 shows, and this thing has never disappointed. It is super versatile with its EMG pickups and active 3-band EQ. I never touched the setup of the bass until recently, as I was happy with the action as I got it from the factory, but once I set it up, I never want to put it down. It is almost effortless to play, but still has no fret buzz.
The only "issue" I've ever had is that after a few gigs, the bridge pickup tends to pop up toward the G and D strings, which is easy enough to fix with a screwdriver.
Overall, I can't recommend this bass enough. Affordable and versatile, I really couldn't ask for more.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Riot-5 Session 5 String Electric Bass Guitar:

As the first review said, this bass could sell for a lot more money.i played on the 4 string version first and really liked its feel and tone variations.i already have a 4string Marcus Miller bass. So I decided to get the Riot 5 string.the light weight and great neck and body feel was really great. Those EMGs really give this bass powerful slap and thump tone. It also has a great finger style tone too. I play old school funk smooth jazz blues and soft rock and Gospel. This bass handles all these styles!! Get one while the price is right! I think they will ask more for this bass in time.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Riot-5 Session 5 String Electric Bass Guitar:

One of the best basses that I've played in a long time. I've always been a fan of Fender's Jazz Basses personally and I was in the need for a new 5 string bass. One of my main requirements was something not too heavy due to recent back issues that I've gained, but that it also packed a punch when needed. This bass is not only light for a 5 string (at least compared to my old Jazz bass and other basses I've used in the past), but has beautiful tones. With the active EMG pickups and 3 band EQ, I get the boost I need for some of the larger venues and the ability to tweak my sound for various styles of music that I play. This bass is very versatile. I've not had any problems with buzzing on the Low B string and when playing on the praise and worship team at church it sounds great just going straight into the board. When I play with my band it sounds awesome through my amp! Truly one of the best basses I've played in a while and well worth the money. I compared this bass to several of Ibanez's top models along with some Fenders, Gibson, Music Men, Rickenbachers and several others when I was shopping at my local guitar shop and this is the one that I chose. You won't be sorry

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Riot-5 Session 5 String Electric Bass Guitar:

I haven't owned a bass with EMG's since the 90's and this one got my attention. Years ago, I owned an original Schecter bass, custom made in LA, and would have never considered owning a "new" Schecter but this bass definitely changed my mind. The neck is a perfect "C" shape and is fast and comfortable, with none of the typical dead spots. The position inlays, on the fingerboard, are real ebony wood and the fretwork is flawless. It's light weight and balance are spot on with no neck dive whatsoever. It has a natural matte finish that reminds me of a roasted maple look. It's darker in real life than the photos on the web. Excellent bridge with top load or thru the body stringing and Grover tuners. As if the bass wasn't good enough, the EMG electronics knocks it out of the park. It has the emg J in the neck and the dc in the bridge giving it the popular j/mm setup that is so popular. It has an emg 3 band preamp that gives you a ton of tonal possibilities and with its 18 volts it has tons of head room. Made in Korea with final setup in the USA, the quality and value are exceptional. This has quickly become my go to bass and can easily cover any style that I play.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Riot-5 Session 5 String Electric Bass Guitar:

Looking very forward to picking up this bass. I've recently opened my own studio and am needing a session bass (no pun intended haha!). This will be my first one, yay!

First off, this thing looks killer. Black hardware over natural finish. And the black, rectangular, offset fret inlays.. ridiculous. I do care what it sounds like (can't have nonsense sound), but if I pick up an instrument that looks goofy.. it better sound like the glory of God pouring out of Heaven and into my earballs - because my eyeballs will be screaming "no freakin way!"

Besides, most basses at this price range and up will give you a basically good tone that you can play with in the eq stage to fit your fancy.

Now, let's all go get a couple of these basses. Ready, go! And if you get yours before I do, write a real review for me so I can hear someone's opinion who has played it. K, thanks! :)
