Schecter's Raiden Special-5 electric bass guitar is the perfect bass for beginners who want to get off on the right foot and for intermediate players who don't want to spend a fortune on their instrument. With quality components and excellent styling, the Raiden Special-5 is a solid investment at a great price.
The Schecter SuperRock Bass is two Jazz pickups in one casing. In two Coil mode the midrange is powerful with a nice punch. When the Push-Pull Tone knob is pulled up the single coil tone is classic with jazzy lows and highs.
The Raiden Special-5 has a quality maple neck. Maple has a uniform grain, it' strong and stable, and it has less reaction from environmental changes than other hardwoods. Its tone is highly reflective, and focuses more energy onto the body wood. Maple transfers a bright tone to the body which complements the warm tones of a mahogany body.
Rosewood is naturally oily and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact, which is why it is the most common wood used in fingerboards. The sound is richer in fundamental than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.
Schecter bass tuners provide high quality, precision tuning with minimum weight. It has a 17:1 gear ratio allowing for precise fine tuning adjustments, removable knobs, threaded peghead bushing and a 13.6mm diameter peg hole.
The diamond deluxe string thru bridge is a traditional steel plated bridge with increased string travel for extra intonation adjustment and string through body design.
Case sold separately.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Raiden Special-5 Electric Bass Guitar:
Picked this up over Christmas and it has become my number one bass. I have owned many basses over the past 30 years I have been playing and many that cost far more than this one that did not play or sound half as good. This bass holds in tune in drop A and is the first bass I have owned that does so. Like the coil tap on the pickups for single coil tones but the dual coil setting is my favorite. Just massive grindy goodness all the way.
