The semi-hollow maple body features a striking black and white tattoo graphic by famed British artist Kev Grey and is fixed with two Duncan Designed humbuckers (with coil splitting) that whisper and wail with plenty of firepower. Yes, Schecter makes more than just good Metal guitars ...

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Porl Thompson Corsair Bigsby Electric Guitar:

I was in the market for a good semi hollow . I first bought the Gretsch 5120 but wasn't happy with it so I returned it for a Corsair . I just happened to get the Porl Thompson since I was a fan of The Cure and thought the Kev Grey artwork was tasteful. Never thought I'd get a Schecter but I did on a whim and am NOT regretting it . Firstly the guitar on reception was near flawless . The attention to detail to everything on the guitar is just spot on . The artwork looks as if it was painted on . It's just beautiful . As for playability 1 string was out of tune . That was it . No need for a set up whatsoever . I thought I'd be replacing the Duncan Designs for USA SD 59s but I most likely won't . The pickups surprisingly work brilliantly . No mud . Good humbucker sound and with coil tap the pickups get sparkly almost like a filtertron ( not exact but close ) . Shockingly I can say absolutely nothing bad about this guitar . Out of my 4 six strings it's become my favorite bar none . All I can say is if you are looking for a good semi hollow the Corsair is certainly it . Even if the artwork is too much for you consider a Schecter Corsair then . It's about Gibson quality ( yeah , I said it ) for the price of a good Epiphone . All I can say is try one and see.

Excellent Guitar

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Porl Thompson Corsair Bigsby Electric Guitar:

I have become an owner of a Porl Thompson Corsair and am certainly not regretting it . After recently purchasing a Gretsch 5120 and feeling it wasn't for me I returned it to GC and ordered this since the body was thinner and I liked the Kev Grey design . Then I received it . And was just blown away . First off the guitar is just beautiful . I scanned this thing over and over and found not flaws . The guitar is well made , right out the box I tuned it and played it . No buzz, keeps tune , excellent sustain , etc . I thought I'd be pulling out the Duncan Designed pickups for real Duncans but after playing it through my amps the pickups sound just awesome. I will admit they are a little hotter than a 59. More closer to a JB . Sound great . With the coil tap the guitar just sparkles even more than the Gretsch . Almost like a Magnatron ( played quite a few Gretsches with them) . All I can say is that I was never expecting this thing to be as good as it is . Only disclaimer is that it has Grover tuners instead of Gotohs ( who cares ). Even if you don't like the artwork you should consider the Corsair in general . Despite Schecter being known for rock and metal guitars these things ( at least the Porl is ) is super versatile . From blues to jazz to even rock and metal or punk. It just performs . A fast neck , stays in tune and can go from sparkly to fat and warm . All and all it's just a wonderful guitar . Probably the best hollow body I've played in this price point . No blowing smoke . Try one and see. Seriously .
