I don't want to write a book here about everything I love about this guitar so, in short, I am extremely happy with it! You can get many great sounds out of the different pickup combos and it sounds FANTASTIC clean. The top is beautiful but the back of the guitar and neck are super sexy. If you like skinny, matte finish necks, there can't be many more comfortable than this. I'm not in any way comparing these but I have an Epi Les Paul Trad Pro, squier strat, ESP LTD LMH100QMNT, and this guitar and I've got to say this is my go to guitar most of the time. BOTTOM LINE...it looks phenomenal, sounds amazing, and feels like a dream. Worth every penny and more.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-6 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is amazing for noobs and experienced players alike. The quality is amazing for the price and in terms of metal guitars i feel schecter makes the best looking and best feeling guitars. I mostly play hardcore and metal and this guitar is exactly what i was looking for. It has a very comfortable neck, not thin like an ibanez rg or jackson dinky but its somewhere in the middle between thin and think, think fender strat or telecaster. The quality and craftsmanship are top notch for the price and i firmly believe schecters are among the best for the money. The only thing that could have been a little better are the pickups. If you really want a deep, heavy tone you might want to swap them out for some JB's or go for active pickups and get the schecter demon for the same price. I have the demon as well and use that for drop c and b and use this one for standard and drop d which it does very well. All in all, this is a fantasic guitar with the looks and feel to back it up. If you are used to think necks like the ibanez rg or the jackson dinky you might want to try before you buy because the neck is not as thin, but like with any guitar it is important to get a feel for it first and this one is definitely well made and a solid deal.

Great guitar met all my expectations of what a midrange / low high end guitar should be and could be. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to upgrade or just add as a solid backup guitar.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-6 Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar! I bought this guitar about 6 years ago as an upgrade from my beginner SG special. I wanted a guitar that was versatile enough to play jazz and blues, but leaning towards my metal style of playing. I had actually went in to buy a Damien but bought the Omen on mistake. This has been my go-to guitar ever since. The neck fits perfectly in my hand and the sound is phenomenal. I would give this 5 stars but there is a problem. When playing and moving the high E string around, it can get caught on the outside of the fret. It is not a huge deal unless you are playing live.

      Solid guitar worth the money

      By Stephen

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-6 Electric Guitar:

I have only had this guitar for about 3 weeks and I bought it so that I could drop tune it if I want to because my Jackson has a Floyd Rose tremolo which I don't like to mess with as far as changing the tuning. First I would like to say that I did not receive the guitar that is advertised on the GC website as the Omen Extreme 6. The one I received actually has an extra volume pot so that each pickup has its own vol control (which is an awesome feature) and the head stock is painted to match the sunburst on the body of the guitar which I really don't know if I like. I think I would of wanted it to be black because it looks a little cheap but its not terrible. I have to say that I really like this instrument overall. It feels really solid like a tank and it sounds excellent. The finish is outstanding and looks even better than the pictures, so shiny and clean and not a blemish on it. The back of the guitar has a dark stained wood finish which looks really nice. With the 2 volume pots and the tone pot with the push pull single coil splitting this thing can produce a lot of different sounds without even touching my amp to adjust. The blues sounds I get out of this are excellent, I can hear Jimi. The neck is a C shape and is what I would consider thick compared to my Jackson, and I thought I was not going to like it but I like it a lot after playing it quite a bit, not to mention the back of the neck is unfinished which makes my thumb slide along nice and easy. Now for the bad (and its not really that bad)... The 3 way switch seems to be made out of more plastic than metal and feels a bit on the cheap side but only time will tell if it will hold up. The volume pots seem solid but the push/pull coil split tone control feels a little loose like it may not hold up to a lot of use, once again, time will tell. Same goes for the tuners, they seem like they may not hold up overtime and I have noticed that they are not holding tune as well as they should but its possible that the strings that came with the guitar are to blame. I just restrung with a new set of Boomers last night so maybe they will hold tune better than the Ernie Balls that came installed on it. If tuning problems persist I am thinking of buying some locking tuners to go on anyway. Overall, I really like this guitar and if the hardware felt as solid as the guitar itself I would of given this guitar 5 stars. The sound that comes out of it is awesome! For the price, nice guitar.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-6 Electric Guitar:

When I purchased this guitar, not but a month's time ago, I was looking to get away from my old Fender Squier Strat. I've had it for years; it was a freebie from a friend in high school. It was an upgrade from my generic Strat copy, and it served me well in the years that I used it, but after years with the guitar, I began to realize it wasn't what I needed.

What I found in this guitar was everything I needed and more. I bought this guitar in the vintage sunburst style, and let me say, the pictures don't do the finish justice. I'd considered going with the cheaper Omen models, but I'm glad I stuck with this. The satin neck was an important feature for me, and this one feels great. The coil split is a great feature. I love the sound of singles in the neck position, and I can get that when I need it with this. The pickups are surprisingly nice (and I have customs on the Strat). The model I received is an upgrade from the guitar in the photos, with individual volume pots for the neck and bridge pups, and a matching headstock, instead of painted. The rosewood on the fingerboard is of high quality, the detailing - inlays, binding, etc. - couldn't be better, the action was great out of the box, along with intonation, and it came with Ernie Ball strings and a Tusq nut, so there was no need to swap anything out upon arrival.

This guitar is absolutely gorgeous, well priced, plays and sounds great, and exceeds all expectations.

I was walking through a Pawn shop and came across the Schecter Signature Series Omen-6 with the Burgundy Finish and offered them a fair price. Little did they know I had already ran the make and model through Google and I already knew what I had. I get it home and immediately begin to give it a work out. Aside from the rusty old strings, "I was completely blown away at the extra large frets and the creamy sound this instrument produces. If you come across a Schecter, buy it. YOU WONT BE SORRY I am a convert from Gibson and Taylor

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-6 Electric Guitar:

Why did I wait so long to buy this guitar? This is an amazing product, got the antique sunburst which arrived flawless, finish, quality and workmanship blew me away when I opened the box.
Plays and sounds great thru my Line 6 and Fender Stage Lead amps, great versatility with the coil tap in either configuration. I got an updated version with two volume controls and headstock finished same as guitar. I am a Fender guy and this product is easily as good or better than anything I have owned and is absolutely beautiful.
Super value, super product, I could not be more impressed with what I now own.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-6 Electric Guitar:

Folks you just can't get a better guitar at this price range. I just wish people would stop calling this guitar a beginners guitar. Sure it's a gteat first guitar because of the price but it's also a great guitar at the pro level! It's also the first guitar I've ever bought that does NOT need to be set-up. It comes with perfect action and intonation right out of the box. Frets are perfect, pickups are aggressive, sustain is like a Les Paul and it's light in weight. Buy It!
