Lovely Guitar

By JimBo

from Taylor Mill, KY

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-5 5-String Bass Guitar:

Only had this guitar for a week, took it back because I preferred another one a little better. Still, this is a great guitar. The active electronics sound wonderful. The body design & finish (I got the trans-ocean blue) are super cool. The dark chrome hardware is very slick and adds a nice touch. A tad larger and heavier than most basses. The body has very square edges, rather than rounded ones. Great value, hard to be dissapointed with this one.

Beautiful axe featuring the real rock/metal tone.

By Felipe Giannazzo

from Saltillo, Coahuila

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-5 5-String Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass for the looks, but ended up admiring the sound it produces. I am a metal/rock player, so low tunings are a normal thing for me. This bass took my preference of high caliber strings and a Drop C tuning, without losing sound quality or playability. The electronics equipped on it are unbelievable, because it's the same as having an expensive active electronics set, without the need of a battery! For me, itۡs the perfect axe. I wonۡt get tired of hearing people saying how beautiful my bass is! Thanks Schecter!

Beautiful

By Meh

from Amarillo, TX

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-5 5-String Bass Guitar:

I was looking to start playing a 5 string after a while, and this one immediately caught my eye. The bass itself felt very nice in my hands and when playing a few 5 string riffs I had memorized. I'm a fan of humbucker pickups, so these were perfect for me. After ordering and receiving mine (they had it back order for the longest time), it was set up perfectly out of the box. Surprising, I know, but there was no fret buzz, and the strings were perfect, after a little tuning obviously. I would definitely recommend this 5 string to anyone looking to step up from a 4 string.

One of the best 5 string basses around for rock and metal.

By Charles

from Los Angeles

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-5 5-String Bass Guitar:

This bass is absolutely beautiful. There is zero fret buzz, the pickups are wonderful for producing a heavy sound. If you have your mind on this bass, try it out at a local music store and see if it fits your needs. I would definitely compare this bass to the Ibanez SR505 or the Schecter Stiletto Elite 5 and see which one you like better. I personally love the finish (I got the trans-ocean blue). Great overall bass.

No Regrets Here!

By Don Francis

from Perryville, MO

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-5 5-String Bass Guitar:

I was a little anxious with going from four strings to five, and a little more anxious in both spending too much or not spending enough. So I chose to trust the reviews and pick the Omen Extreme. It is a gorgeous instrument, relatively lightweight, and very versatile in tone. I play at the church sometimes and need the "fat and flat" sound but can easily get the punch I need on the more lively stuff. The only challenge I am having is on me, getting use to that extra B string and the slightly closer distance between the strings. Honestly I can find no down side with this guitar.

Fast neck, smooth action and nice tones.

By Anthony Greutman

from Ohio

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-5 5-String Bass Guitar:

This bass plays beautifully and produces a very nice tone. My only concern is that there is just a bit of fret buzz which generally does not come through the amp. The finish (Black Cherry) is breathtaking.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-5 5-String Bass Guitar:

I've had this bass for about 6 or 7 years now and it has absolutely blown me away! I didn't play it much when I first got it bc of the weird transition from 4 to 5 strings but over time I've played it more and more. I love it more every time I play on it! I've used this thing for rock, alt metal , death metal, posthardcore bands, jazz bands, jamming with friends stangers in a bluesy way, I've recorded With it and made YouTube covers with it. It's suited more for rock metal punk abd subgenres but it's versatile. This thing will take thick strings if you want (135 B string), the dadario strings that came on it were great too. This thing has great low end roar but can also sing melodically I play a lot of chords/fragments and tremello with a weird playing style and this thing sounds great! It's my favorite bass, it's the best I've played although I haven't tried many abd my others are lower quality. I play guitar too but am mainly a bassist so I like how the strings sit a little closer together than on others or 4 strings. I've had guitarists ask me what I did to make this bass sound so great and they were blown away when I said nothing just took it out the box! I've only had to intoneate it once so far. It's set up was pretty great out of the box the strings were a bit higher off the neck than I was Used to but once I got used to the action I was glad they put it where it was. Only complaint is that the low b sometimes would make the low b harware rattle and I could feel it skake/vibrate the whole bass (it didn't come through amp or anything. This stopped over time and I think higher string gauges might have helped to smooth this out. Batteries for the active pickups seem to last for quiet awhile. I use this through a boss me50b with compression on and through a nice combo amp that can compete with stacks this bass roars through it. I highly recommend this bass especially to rockers/metalheads. Schecter guitar research totally know what they're doing. Thanks 4 this
