With features and sonics that rival axes costing twice the bucks, the Omen-7 is an awesome value. Equipped with a 25-1/2" scale mapleneck, rosewood fingerrboard with 24 jumbo frets, dual Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers, and a Tune-o-matic-style bridge with string-thru.

Rosewood Fingerboard
The most commonly used fretboard wood, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.

Schecter Diamond Plus Pickups
Overwound coils with a ceramic magnet give this aggressive high output pickup the push that will send your amp over the edge. Made for crunchy rhythms and blistering leads. Perfect for drop tunings. This pickup will cut through the mix with ease.

TOM Bridge with Thru-Body
Classic design Tune-O-Matic bridge with a Schecter 'String Thru' body tail, for added string tension, sustain and clarity.

Schecter Tuners
These high quality tuners feature a classic design in a lubricated and sealed housing to protect gears for a lifetime of maintenance free playability. Details include a 15:1 gear ratio for smooth and precise tuning, removable knobs, threaded hex peghead bushing, and a 10mm diameter peg hole.

Beautiful new 7 stringed beast

By Ali

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen-7 7-string Electric Guitar:

First thing i noticed of course is the mahogany finish, it's absolutely gorgeous, especially up against that rosewood fretboard. I've owned a Schecter before, liked the quality, but it was very heavy and I could never get the action where I wanted it. This baby is shockingly light, and the action was like butter out of the case. The low B is deliciously growly, but all of the deep tones are clear and don't get easily lost in the distortion. The highest frets offered just as clear of a tone, and bent like they were born for it. Overall extremely happy, this was received as a birthday gift and will be appreciated for years to come.

Perfect for writing the boomy stuff

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen-7 7-string Electric Guitar:

I just recieved this guitar in the mail yesterday. And all I can say is, "WOW." For the price, I have hardly heard this kind of quality or seen such a nice looking guitar. I tuned this beast to B standard and let fly some riffs I had written on GuitarPro. Needless to say, it did the job and then some. I would definitly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a 7 string with excellent quality who does not want to pay a grand plus.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen-7 7-string Electric Guitar:

Amazingly Great awesome instrument. I bought this as my first seven-string guitar. I always liked to play higher end six-string schecters, and was skeptical when I saw a seven-string for this price. I took a chance and bought it. First off, the finish is absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't stop looking at it. The stock pick-ups are pretty good, can be switched out to something better but good for seven-string noobies like myself. This guitar is also easily tunable and holds drop tunings very well for playing heavy metal. The fretboard is next to flawless for the price, incredibly smooth and easily playable. The sound is crystal clear on both pickups and also plays cleanly very well. The only issue I have with the guitar is that the satin finish burnishes somewhat easily after heavy use; but it is nothing compared to how this guitar plays and sounds. It is a very minor issue and can be ignored. Bottom line, BUY THIS IF YOU ARE NEW TO SEVEN-STRING GUITARS. Of course you can spend more on a better one, but this is a great entry and intermediate seven-string. Easily priceable at about twice the price...

Don't Let the Price Fool You

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Omen-7 7-string Electric Guitar:

Wow. What can I say? I bought this from GC just to have a seven string for the rare occasion that I would use one. I didn't want a floating tremolo mostly to avoid having to deal with dialing in the tuning for seven strings. So, I looked for a decent fixed bridge that didn't cost much. I was skeptical of this guitar. I figured it would be ok, but my expectations were not very high. It showed up, and when I pulled it out of the very good packing, I was very surprised by the quality. Other inexpensive guitars have fret issues where the fret wires extend beyond the width of the fingerboard. This guitar has polished and dressed frets. The setup was great right out of the box. The grains consistency of the maple neck and the rosewood fingerboard are also pretty good for the price. I replaced the stock pickups with DiMarzio Crunchlab and Liquifire pickups, but the stock pickups sounded great as they were. When I was installing the new pickups, the soldering and wiring of the stock electronics was also of high quality. It's amazing what can be purchased these days. This guitar is of equal quality to some of my other guitars costing three to four times as much. Sure, the more expensive guitars have 5A woods and such, but I can't get over how good this thing is for the money. Great value!! ....Buy this guitar!
