Overview

The Schecter Hellraiser Special Solo-6 lives up to its name completely and is similar to the Regular Hellraiser Solo-6 minus the abalone binding, coil taps, locking tuners and Tone Pros bridge.

This Hellraiser 6 was designed for loud, heavy metal music. Just a few power chords on the Hellraiser and you will know that no other tonewood conveys dark tones like solid mahogany. The 3-piece set mahogany neck with an Ultra Access heel design gives you total access to the 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. Fitted with an EMG Active 81 and EMG 85 Active pickup in the neck position, the Schecter Hellraiser Solo-6 gives you an amazing sound palette to work with. Its through-the-body string routing gives you even more sustain. Sweet aesthetic touches include dagger fingerboard inlays and black chrome hardware.

Great Guitar

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

I just picked this up yesterday. All I can say is wow! The guitar is built like a tank and has sustain for days. the pickups are EMG's, so if you are not a fan look elsewhere. The only thing missing are locking tuners. That would have made the guitar superb. This is my first Schecter and it wont be my last.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

I have been playing guitar since i was 5yrs old and i am 20 now and so ive played on multiple types of guitars. right now i own my shecter hellraiser special, ibanez art100, and bc ritch warlock. the hellraiser litteraly has eveything that a metalist would ever want, it literaly picks up on every little thing to pinch harmonics, to arpegios. the day i picked up the shecter i was amazed because the clarity of the distortion on this guitar when playing very heavy chords in drop b to even drop c. i would easyely recomend this guitar to anybody out there whos looking for a guitar they can be proud to say they own because this dang guitar is legendary and lives up to every standard put onto playing metal. no need to think now, BUY IT AND BE AMAZED!!! just like me

i have a very wide range of musical interests ranging from blues to metal, this guitar does it all. the crunch and tone you get from the emgs make it ideal for achiving the all important humbucker tone. its a great guitar especially for the money. i play it through a halfstack and faces are melted every time. i love this thing and am glad i bought it.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

I finally got me an upgrade for my electric. I stopped playing electric because I had a fender starcaster (beginner cheap guitar I know!), and I got tired of the poor sound on that thing. I own a vypyr amp, and I was thinking of an upgrade for that too... well after I plugged in this guitar I changed my mind. Although is not a true tube amp, I really like the sound of these two together. I am sure you can record some heavy stuff with this and make it sound good.
Moving on to the main thing. I tried SEVERAL guitars before this, but this one has AWESOME LOOKS AND AWESOME PICKUPS for a low price. The sustain goes forever, and it was nicely set up. The guitar does have a really crunchy sound, so obviously cleans are not as clean but they are good, although kind of mellow, however remember that these pickups are supposed to sound like that so they are only doing their job. I have plugged in my guitar to a couple of apps such as garage band, jam up, and amplitube with an irig. not the best sound to do professional recording, but great for practice. I have not tested the guitar with a cabinet but I'm sure if the thing soundS loud and clear through a practice amp like the vypyr, it will sure sound great with a better preamp and a cabinet. Overall I think this is very close to a pros guitar for a really low price.

        Hellraiser Special Solo-6

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar after looking for a couple hours. It is awesome! Its versatility is its greatest asset. It can handle anything from crushing overdrives to soft, clean sounds and anything in between. It blows away any other guitar in its price range. Its a liitle bit on the heavy side but thats the only flaw I can find in it. Its durable, affordable, and it sounds great! I recommend this to a player at any level.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

Got this one on sale a few weeks ago. Before this, I was using a bronze series BC Rich, so obviously this guitar would be an obvious upgrade in all respects.

For one, this guitar is beautiful! Looks even better in person. The craftsmanship on this guitar is incredible considering how much I paid for it. The neck was a little thicker and more rounded than my B.C Rich but I think it actually fits my hand better. Although the neck only has 22 frets, it does make playing the lower notes towards the headstock a tad easier. I'm not much of a shredder yet so I guess the lower amount of frets works for me.

I think the selling point for this guitar and for other people who are looking to jam metal is the EMG 81/85 combo. The EMG 85 (bridge) is great for that Hi-Gain trebly distortion. I play genres such a Black Metal, Hardcore Punk, and Thrash Metal, and it's a good active pickup for styles like that.

I think the only thing that could be a drawback to this guitar is its weight. I believe it weighs about 10 pounds, tons heavier than my B.C Rich, but I don't mind it and I'd honestly rather have a solid feeling piece of equipment. Obviously if you're use to playing paper light Jacksons or Ibanez's, you'll definitely have to adjust to this guitar. Also, the fretboard is a little rounded and the spacing between the strings closer, so if your use to playing wizard necks, you'd probably have a hard time adjusting to a Schecter neck.

Overall, this guitar has been an absolute blast. For the price and quality I think Schecter guitars are definitely a great option for people wanting to play Rock or Metal.I plan to continue practicing and jamming with friends on it for years to come.

        Great Guitar!

        By Don Minor

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

I have a c1, solo 6, and a v1 hellraiser. I love them all to death, but just had to add this one to my arsenal. The dark vintage sunburst is very nice. Looks so much better in person. Not having the locking tuners and split coils is no big deal. This guitar rocks just the same!!! The tuners do a great job at keepin tune and look to be of nice quality. The emg's scream as they do on my other hellraisers, but no coil taps make it less versatile. However it's made to rcck and rock hard it does. Not to mention the finish looks awesome as well. This guitar is more than worthy of having the hellraiser name.

        This guitar is amazing!

        By Stephen Roller

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

I spent about 2 hours at guitar center just playing guitars trying to find the right one, and I almost walked out with a Gibson Les Paul, but there was just something I didn't like about it. So I picked up a Schecter and when I started playing it i knew that this guitar was for me. The finish is beautiful, and the guitar sounds amazing with 2 emg pups. It's heavier than my old Epiphone, but it is not to heavy. I'm all around happy with my purchase and will be back at Guitar Center soon to buy a case for the beauty. Wouldn't want to damage it while traveling!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

        I love this guitar.
Active EMGs not withstanding, this guitar has a nice, simple interface.
I made the mistake of playing this instrument rather than simply drooling in its general direction (on the Holy Wall @ Guitar Center). I walked in for strings and walked out with...well...you know.
        Such a deal!
