Overview

The Hellraiser Deluxe electric guitar, Schecter's newest addition to the Hellraiser family, is just as infernally elegant as its siblings. The mahogany body is capped with figured maple, finished in crimson burst, and bound in black. The 3-piece mahogany neck plays super fast and smooth with a rosewood fretboard and 24 jumbo frets for effortless bending.
Like the rest of the Hellraiser clan, the Deluxe guitar has a pair of high-output EMG active humbuckers, an EMG-81 in the bridge and an 85 in the neck, for searing leads and tight sledgehammer riffs. The Schecter guitar features mother-of-pearl crescent inlays that run the length of the fretboard, coming together in a unique 12th fret pattern that you just have to see to appreciate. Finally, the Tune-o-matic-style bridge and thru-body stringing ensure singing sustain.

I just recently got this guitar, And from the moment i laid eyes on it, i fell in love with it. I picked it up and started playing it on a line 6 Spider IV amp and it gives me a very great tube-amp like sound with this guitar, And the active EMG pickups make it so versatile when it comes to playing many different types of music. Its got a very fast neck, its not heavy, and it holds its sustain like a Lespaul. Its very sturdy, and hardly ever goes out of tune! This guitars great for anyone, from beginner to advanced, this guitar does it all, and its got a price tag that cannot be beat!

A Fantastic Instrument!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Deluxe Electric Guitar:

This is a fantastic guitar with one amazing price tag. Honestly, after giving it a quick test run, I fully expected it to be no less than $1,000. The finish is absolutely gorgeous and the guitar simply feels great. The neck is slim and very fast. It is also pure wood with a very light semi-gloss that your hand won't even notice. One of my biggest complaints with Gibson is they typically use heavy-gloss on the backs of their necks, causing your speed to decrease as your hand sweats. This isn't the case here. The neck remains smooth and fast. Plus, there's just something sexy about the look and feel of a pure wood neck with little to no gloss. The strings are strung through the guitar's body which produces quite a bit of resonance. So much in fact that you can easily feel the guitar vibrating against your stomach as you play. This helps produce a very rich sound that is boosted by the EMG pickups. The EMGs far surpassed my expectations. They are extremely articulate with distortion and provide a very nice, woody warmth to your clean tone. The only fault I can find is that it's slightly heavier than a Les Paul, and several pounds heavier than a Fender Strat. With that said, if you are used to playing Les Paul's you'll barely notice the difference. But, if you're used to playing Fender's then the difference will be substantial. After several months of owning the Schecter, it has become my favorite guitar, beating out my two Gibson Les Paul's and my Fender Strat. Everything about it has made me rethink what makes a great electric guitar. I can easily give this instrument my highest recommendation, so get it now before Schecter wises up and jacks up the price!

Great Guitar!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Deluxe Electric Guitar:

I this guitar for my birthday last year, it was the third guitar i owned, i was aiming for a guitar that i could shred on, and let me say this guitar was great for shredding, i could play almost anything and it would sound great, i can definitely say that it was better than my ibanez iceman and my epiphone G-400. I did have a lot of problem with the bolt on neck, and the guitar would go out of tune so fast, but other than that its a great guitar and its worth buying!

An Excellent Guitar For All Styles of Playing

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Deluxe Electric Guitar:

Features: Beautiful all around tone, clean or distorted. You would actually be surprised how great the clean tones are on this thing. The neck is very thick for a more bottom end tone, but you can really get some speed on it! I love the way this thing plays. Quality: I have had this guitar for about a year now, and I haven't had any major problems with it's design. The one minor problem I have had, is the tone knob became loosened on it's own after a year, but a simple fix. Look & Feel: This guitar isn't to heavy, but it isn't very light. This is an absolutely gorgeous guitar though. I get a lot of compliments about this guitars looks. The only thing is, THE COLOR OF THE GUITAR PICTURED ON THIS SITE IS NOT WHAT IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE! The guitar in person looks much better. Overall I would give this guitar 4/5 stars from my own personal experience. It sounds great and looks great. It plays beautifully if you like a thicker sound. My only issue was the tone knob loosened up, but I am still really happy that i bought this guitar.

Great for metal and shredding

By THOMAS NEILSON

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Deluxe Electric Guitar:

I was just trying this guitar out to see what Schecters were like, and it's pretty amazing. It has great pickups for heavy riffs, and when the switch is flipped upwards, it sounds very nice with high notes. It's easy to press down the strings, so it plays very fast. You can reach even the 24th fret easily with the body and neck design. It has very good sustain, and the pickups don't sound muddy at all. The design is very sharp, and I love the color. If you want a tremolo system, this guitar is also available with the Floyd Rose for just $75 more.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Deluxe Electric Guitar:

This guitar is beautiful and it plays like a dream. I usually have to adjust the action on guitars when I buy them but this one plays better than I could have set it up. The EMG pickups are awesome and the only thing this guitar needs is the Floyd. I am only getting Schecter's from here on out.

2 out of 2 complete junk

By Sorlark

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Deluxe Electric Guitar:

First one, played great at first, then as each day passed, the strings were always out of tune. After A week I noticed the action was abuot the same as my 6 year old Ibanez, that had a bent AND twisted neck. I took it to a professional and confirmed my suspicions. He took a look, said yep, bent neck, return it now. So over 2 weeks later ( Musicians Friend ) I got another one. Straight out of the box I strummed the strings and sustain? HAHAHAHA the string buzzed off the frets like I had never heard before. I tried to adjust what I could. Then realized I shouldn't have to be adjusting a guitar to the extreme straight out of the box. Which btw, didn't help it at all. You cannot play the guitar. Currently I'm debating gambling on a 3rd, Or just getting my money back. So take your chances if you want.

Outstanding value for the money

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Deluxe Electric Guitar:

This guitar is without a doubt, one of the best deals in the guitar word...i guarantee it. Take a look at what you get..Active EMG's, mahogany body, figured finish, ebony fretboard, mother-of-pearl inlays....this is the type of upgrades you find in USA models of other big name guitar companys..I've owned mine for a month so I have had time to evaluate it and I can tell you....this is a great guitar. The price is unbelievable and it plays great. My only wish is that it had neck-through construction...

blown the hell away...

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Deluxe Electric Guitar:

Wow...im not sure what quite to say about this. i was planning on buying a shecter damien 6 when i walked into guitar center, which i thought was awsome by the way, but i decided to check out one more guitar. this was it. i compared the damien 6 to this and forgot why i liked it ha ha ha! what im saying is that the damien is really nice but this is way better...better than any guitar i've ever played actually. the pickups pack so much distortion and power that its beyond amazing, but if you turn the tone knob up, switch the pickup selecter down, and set your amp to a clean setting, its still absoulutly amazing sounding clean...so amazing. ever since i got it its pretty much all i think about. ITS SO AWESOMLY EPICLY AMAZING!!!! the only disapointing thing is the picture of it. The finish is much better in person! The guitar its self does not disapoint at all. great for pretty much what ever you want to play. GET THIS GUITAR!!!!!!
