This One's a Keeper

By Horns Up

from Syracuse, NY

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 FR 7-String Electric Guitar:

Over the years I have bought and returned a couple of 7 strings but this is the one. Like all 7 strings it has a thicker body and fairly wide neck and it's a little heavier than most of my guitars but not much heavier than a Les Paul if at all. It stays in tune great (I have it set to drop A) thanks to the Floyd and I got a really good tone right away. The action is pretty easy to tweak and after getting used to the size of it I was shredding with extended range. So much bottom end my sub octave pitch effects dropped out of audible range! Easy to pinch of harmonics and I don't even have my own string set up yet but it's still playing nicely out of the box. Got it in Black Cherry. Always wanted a Hellraiser and a quality 7 srting. Got both in one fine guitar!

What a surprise!

By G.Alayon

from Valencia, Ca

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 FR 7-String Electric Guitar:

I went to GC to check out the Shecter 7 string guitar because I was tired of tunning my other guitars low to do Metal tracks for my costumers. I own a Pro studio and get request from TV composers to do many different styles of music. I was skeptical because GC stores has a high volume of costumers and is hard for them to keep the floor models in perfect playing condition from costumers abusing them. I played the one without the Floyd Rose and it was o.k.They didn't have the one with a Floyd Rose, so I took a chance and ordered one online at the store with a black finish. I walked away thinking that I'll have to wait over a week to get it, but to my surprise I got in 4 days! I openned the box and was blown away how beautiful this guitar was. It came with a set of ,10 strings, I use 9s so I replaced the strings and lowered the action as low as possible, tuned it and plugged it in and loved it, intonation was perfect out of the box, the EMG 707TW are great because you can switch to single coil by pulling the volume knob from each pick up. The Floyd Rose works perfect and the action is insane. The neck is a bit thick for my taste but I got long fingers so I'll just get used to it. I highly recomend this guitar for shredders.Make sure you order a guitar that's boxed from the company and hasn't been touched by others!

Versatile, high-end 7 string

By Jaime

from Chicago IL

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 FR 7-String Electric Guitar:

I think the best thing about this guitar is the versatility. Between the two humbuckers and coil-taps, you can come up with 9 different combinations for the pickups. It would be very useful if you are using this guitar for recording as I am. Switching from a searing lead tone to a bright rhythm sound and also being able to dial in a single-coil clean tone (which i prefer) is very useful. The guitar itself is beautiful! The cherry sunburst finish is very glossy. The addition of the Floyd adds to the versatility and doesn't add a tremendous amount of weight. I played the Hellraiser w/o the Floyd and there is a bit of a weight difference, but not much difference in the playability. This is one of the lighter 7 strings I've played. Neck-through helps the sustain quite a bit and the guitar was set up very nicely out of the box. I had to lower the action just a bit, but keep in mind I like the action very low; most people would find the guitar ready to go out of the box. Overall this guitar is going to meet my needs very nicely for recording directly into the computer through a modeling amp (Guitar Rig 3 or 4). I think anyone looking for a high quality guitar with 7 strings and a Floyd can't go wrong! I've haven't had the guitar for very long but I am confident that it will last a long time (and it better for $1000!!). I hope this review was somewhat helpful; i'll update it in the future if anything changes.

Worth every penny and then some!

By Daniel Stone

from Indianapolis, IN

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 FR 7-String Electric Guitar:

I've played many guitars, PRS, Les Pauls, Strats, Teles, Ibanez S series (EX series was my first guitar). Hands down this guitar is superior in every way imaginable. The tone is outrageous, the look is gorgeous, the feel is flawless. This was my first 7 string and i'll never go back. I thought the transition would be more difficult but with this guitar I've gotten even better than I was with the 6 string version. (Had the 6 string hellraiser before too). For the money Schecter has the best guitars you can buy...period. This C7 plays better and sounds better than guitars that are twice the price.

High quality

By josh

from Fresno, Ca

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 FR 7-String Electric Guitar:

Just got my hellraiser C7 FR today and i must say that it is everything that i had hoped and then some. It is my second 7 string my other guitar is a rg7321 and the C7 Feels WAY more comfortable. the neck is longer and wider but is very easy to access all string and all frets. I had to take out one off the springs on the floyd rose for my bands tuning (1 1/2 steps down) and loosen the screws on the spring plate and then it was easy to dial in the tuning. The EMG pickups are very bright and the coil tap is a nice feature to change up tones depending on what you are playing. If you are looking to get a new 7 then this is it.

The ultimate 7 string tone

By Leonardo T.

from Mexico City, DF

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 FR 7-String Electric Guitar:

There's not much to say about this guitar but INCREDIBLE!!!! I have it on Black Cherry color, I got it almost a year ago from a friend at Schecter, what can I say, it has been my number one guitar for a long time, right now I have it tuned down a whole step to get that Korn sound, of course I had to change the strings to a set of 8 strings by Ernie Ball of course forgettin bout the 8th. Being able to switch each pickup alone to get a bunch of different sounds out of it through the TW EMG pickups is just priceless. Floyd Rose on this not only comes incredible from factory but it will stay in tune for a long time even with aggresive playing like the one I have with this guitar. Also the Ultra Access on this guitar makes it incredible to get up to the 24th fret even on the 7th string, and also the neck is thin enough to feel quick and steady all the way. If you are thinking of buying a 7 string guitar this one delivers more than you believe you dont have to spend tons of money to get a grade A instrument, just go to a local GC and feel the necks inbetween a Schecter and any other, even Gibsons should be jealous of the quality of this instruments... and more because of their price!!!!

    Hellraiser to the max

    By Jeremy Boyle

    from San dimas california

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 FR 7-String Electric Guitar:

Hello, I've had this guitar for a few days . And it is amazing ! This guitar doesn't only sound good but it looks like a peace of art ! The active pick ups get a nice clean , especially when you start combing the neck and the bridge. And experimenting with it. The neck is huge ! If you are coming from a beginner guitar or anything of that sort get ready! This guitar is gorgeous in black cherry , if you have the chance to buy this or if you're having difficulty choosing , pick this I've spent endless hours . Researching and going to try out all the 7 strings I could possibly find . And this is the absolute best one ! The neck is also a tad thick so if you like Ibanez (guitar I had before) then you might not like it , however I find it comfortable and easier to play . If you have small hands don't let the extra jumbo frets scare up I ! transition from 6 to 7 excellent! Very happy purchase . Bought it for 730$ just call the store or guitar center and they will help you out !
