Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 7-String Electric Guitar:

Oh man. Where to start. Not only is this the best guitar I have ever played, or ever held in my hands. The color is eye poping amazing. The abalone binding draw the eye but it is not a hey look at how flashy i am guitar. It is beatiful in everyway. I have been playing music for almost 4 years now. I really gotta say that this guitar sings so well and complements my personality in so many ways. It has so much versatillaty for anything you want to through at it. For some I can see how they may not like the pickups. However, i think they are the best pickups of any guitar i have ever heard. And i have been listening to music for as long as i have been alive for the last 22 years. It is amazingly set up right out of the box. The neck is smooth. Like butter, that has been melted. This song sings. Being able to express myself so easily and being able to pull of pinch harmonics is very easy. It comes with 10 to 59s equiped from earnie ball, and for what they are its amazing. Even unplugged this guitar has stellar sound. After looking at this guitar for more then a year, i went with it. It put me in debt up to my eye balls. But worth it. Totally worth every aspect. Ive dubbed the white model which is the one i got "Valhalla"

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 7-String Electric Guitar:

I am in no way a professional musician, but have been around the recording industry quite a bit. This guitar has the best active electronics (of course EMG does no less). They can output very clear high end and very full rich low end on both clean and dirty settings. The seventh string sounds so natural to the instrument. It does not fail in giving a good dynamic range. Out of the box, the instrument I received had great intonation and set with perfect action for 9's B-E-A-D-G-B-E. The best feature by far in this instrument is the coil splitting volume knobs! On single coil setting it sounds very similar to a Strat. It's obviously not exactly the same due to the construction of this instrument but it gives much more versatility than your regular equipped EMG guitar. The 26.5" scale length is perfect for the low-end of the instrument. Virtually no buzzing from the low B. Only downside for me as a player is that doing a run from the first five frets is a little more difficult than on a 25" or 25.5" guitar which I was used to. But other than that, instrument is highly recommended.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 7-String Electric Guitar:

After playing with six strings for years, i wanted to up the ante a little bit in my ability of songwriting. I had been on the market of wanting to get a 7 string for probably a year but never knew what one to pull the trigger on seeing how the closest guitar center was more than 2 hours from my home. Looking at all brands and models online i just couldn't choose. I was mostly looking between ibanez and schecter. I went to guitar center before i had moved and immediately went straight for the 7 strings on the wall which were ibanez and the schecter. Upon playing these guitars back and forth for almost an hour, the more i played the schecter the more i didn't wanna put it back. The feel of the guitar for one is so nice and comfortable. The lock tuning is amazing for you can hammer on these strings and not worry about tuning it as often. The EMG 707 provide such a crisp and hard hitting tone perfect my style of music which is mostly metal. I ended up purchasing the floor model in red which was so beautiful. I didn't wanna wait for them to have to order another one. I also didn't expect to walk out of the store with a guitar. Definitely recommend to any guitarist that wants to add that extra oomph into their playing!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 7-String Electric Guitar:

      Sound:
I got it used so it came with different pickups, mine came with 81-7/60-7 and these pickups scream! and the guitar sounds good unplugged as well. it is very versatile and doesn't make the 7th string sound horrible, it tightens it up and when on clean, it doesn't sound so flubby and bassy.

      Neck:
Feels and plays amazing! the neck feels really nice despite the gloss, it is easy to get around quickly and efficiently.

The extra jumbo frets really do assist in solo work and in vibrato and as well in bending soulfully.

the 26.5" scale length is something to get used to and I am still getting used to it, but it is honestly amazing, I will never buy another 7 string below 26.5" scale.

      Body:
Not heavy at all, which I love since my back gets sore quick and this helps out A LOT! but it doesn't feel cheap either.

the finish on it is amazing! (I have the gloss black one) and is flawless. the bridge feels really nice, and the knobs/controls are out of my way completely which is a massive bonus to me.

Schecter also did a really good job on the abalone binding on the body, it looks amazing and compliments the black very well.

      Looks:
INCREDIBLE EYE CANDY! this body shape looks super sleek and makes you wanna play super fast shreddy stuff (I am a rhythm player so I play super fast rhythms on it) and it just looks amazing.

      Overall:
it is a work horse, and feels amazing, plays amazing, looks amazing...

the sound is very versatile and I know the usual 707 are also since I have used those on my friends schecter so I feel like they are the most versatile active pickup made. I can get some nice bluesy tone (eric clapton yes I said it) all the way to metallica (since you know EMG pickups right?) and even to Suicide Silence and it all sounds amazing!

Nice weight, the neck isn't heavy and I love the locking tuners on it... I haven't tuned this guitar since I got it. (a week ago) other then to switch from Drop B to Drop A...

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 7-String Electric Guitar:

This is my first Schecter and I must say I absolutely love it. The C-7 feels fantastic to play, sounds great, and looks great. I got it about 2 weeks ago and since then have not been able to stop playing it. I love everything about it. My only minor complaint is that the neck is a little bit too thick for me, but it makes for good practice. If you can play on a thick neck you can play on anything. Overall fantastic guitar I would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it. Although pricey, it's great value for the money.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 7-String Electric Guitar:

This guitar is excellent. [$] is a little much but its worth the quality you're getting. I had originally got this guitar in a trade. BC Rich Warlock for a Dean 7 string Vendetta for an RGR320ex for an ESP LTD KH202 for a Dean Razorback for an Ibanez RGA72QME and lastly for a Schecter C7. payed 100 bucks for a warlock. Payed basically 100 bucks for a neck thru 7 string.ANYWHO, this guitar is amazing for low tunings such as A standard and Drop G. .This guitar is no Ibanez by any means. I am a hardcore Ibanez fan and always will be, i own 6 Ibanez's. But i would definitely recommend this guitar for anybody that wants more tension for lower tunings.

I'll never use a six string again

      By Vincent Pinedo

      from Arizona

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 7-String Electric Guitar:

Overall, I honestly say this guitar, the Schecter Hellraiser C7, gets a 10. I was skeptical about the pickups when I bought it, as there are a lot of reviewers on sites who immediately change them out for others, but these EMG 707-TWs are tight and defined to my ears, and I prefer them to the EMG 81/60s on my ESP EC-1000. There really isn't a huge difference in sound, except the lows are a little tighter with the EMG 707-TWs that come on the Schecter. I was reading about different pickups to replace them with before I bought the guitar, but that's another 200 bucks I don't need to spend because these sound great. The only two issues I can see are that Schecter does not sell replacement parts, creating an extra hassle if you should need some, and the volume drops too much when the single coil sound is activated. Did I mention there is plenty of room in the area of your picking hand so you are not accidentally bumping volume knobs or fighting for the room to palm mute? It's a great guitar.
There are a few features worthy of praise on my newly purchased Hellraiser C7. First, I really like the through body strings. With no backstop tailpiece there is one less piece of hardware to worry about. The locking tuners are also excellent, and after stretching the strings a bit, you better believe the guitar stays in tune. The extra wide jumbo frets are great for me, and really cleaned up my sound because now my fingers don't accidentally touch strings I don't want them to. The guitar has a very long neck and, the nut and bridge came filed wide enough for me to drop the next size up strings on without having to do anything. I moved the strings up from the 10-56 that come on the guitar to 11-58 (7 String Power Slinkys) with no problem. Just a slight raise in the action, and the guitar's intonation did not suffer one bit. Now, I play in drop A and it doesn't get flabby at all. I don't even need a setup. The push-pull volume knobs are great. The cleans sound amazing when the single coil sound is activated by pulling up on the volume knob. They tuly shimmer. There is a drop in volume when the single coil sound is activated, but since I use the Spider Valve MK II, I just set the channel volume for my clean channel a little higher, and no volume drop occurs. I could see where the single coil volume might drop off too much withhout this ability, but since the high gain stuff sounds better to my ears with the guitar volume rolled off a little, one could simply roll the volume back up when the single coil sound is engaged.
I've only played the guitar for about 6 hours now, but the quality is obvious. There is no loose harware, no string buzz, and the paint job is flawless with no blemishes to speak of. It's a beautiful guitar.
You'd better believe getting this guitar for under 900 bucks is a value. The problem is, if you go to Shecter's website, you'll notice that if you do break something on it, they don't sell replacement parts, only entire guitars. I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 on value for the extra hassle you will need to go through to replace parts by having to shop around instead of just going straight to Schecter.

      Bitchen 7 String

      By Isaac Jensen

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 7-String Electric Guitar:

Overall this is a great 7 string for beginners. I normally only play custom guitars but this one actually wasnt bad. It featured a really light mahogany body which really surprised me when I picked it up. The pickups are alright but I'd switch them out for a Crunch Lab and Liquifire for sure. Tuners are good but I'd switch those out for some locking Hipshots. Bridge is good. Finnish is awesome! Especially the binding. This is a great guitar and if you're in the market for a cheap but great quality 7 string, buy it.

      My dream guitar...

      By RandySavage77

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-7 7-String Electric Guitar:

The very first day i picked one of these things up i went crazy for the longest time for these guitars so i scraped up some cash and got myself one and it is everything i expected it to be and more! I have had it for over a few months now and hasn't given me any problems whatsoever. If you are looking for a good seven string, look no further because in my book nothing compares to a C-7 Hellraiser. The 26.5 inch scale was a workout for my fingers but something i got use to very quickly. The EMG pickups on it are perfect for this guitar and makes every effect i play with sound amazing. The locking tuners make restringing a breeze. Every single thing about this guitar i love.
