The Ultimate Metal Machine

By Kevyn

from Dousman, WI

This guitar has exceeded my expectations on every front. Having played on C-7s at my local GC, i knew that i had fallen in love. However, i can now tell that this will be one instrument i will keep forever. I'll start off with rating the looks. I had played on my friends black C-7 and a black cherry colored, but to me white was the most eye-catching color option. Delivered free from GC, it got to my house in just 3 business days, and i was simply amazed. I knew that the guitar looked great from the pictures i had seen online, but this guitar is beautiful. the simple design, abalone binding and cross inlays add a nice touch. On to the function of the Schecter, i was honestly somewhat skeptical because i couldn't seem to get the right tone out of the ones at Guitar Center, but i figured it was just the amp. And i figured right. on my 'home' setup (playing through a Line 6 2x12 with a Boss MetalCore pedal,) it lived up to and even exceeded my expectations. I was also somewhat surprised at it's amazing tone, (mostly for it's bassy lows) because i wasn't sure if it could surpass my Les Paul. Until now, i had thought Les Pauls had the best tone, but now i know that Schecter is a worthy competitor. As for the neck, it is surprisingly thin for the sustain that it can hold, although still somewhat chunky, and stays very accessable all the way up. If you're worried about reaching the low string or adjusting to having an extra one, don't be: it is just as easy as adopting to any other new guitar. The EMG's provide an added overdrive boost, but not so much that the distortion becomes soggy and unclear. The tone stays beefy on the lower end, but cleans itself up as you move up the strings. The coil taps give you a little less crunchy, somewhat classic- rock sounding tone, but not much of a change, and haven't experimented enough to find much use for these. Also surprising is how light it is for a mahogony giutar. For my first seven string, the Schecter C-7 far exceeded my expectations and i know that this will be one that will stay with me forever.

sick guitar

By S

from aspen colorado

this is my first 7 string and i was looking at different ibanez 7s but the ibanezs felt like they werent powerful. that is not the case here. this guitar is absolutely fantastic. the neck is nice and slim for shredding and the active emgs in this guitar make other ibanez 7s no match for this guitar. if you love metal and you want those low heavy riffs and still want the high pitch shredding, then this is your guitar. i like to play slipknot, megadeth, killswitch engage, and all that remains. i love this guitar it was my best buy and for the price its sold at is a bargain.

Never will I stray!

By Will

from Tacoma, WA

I was in the market for a 7-string about a year and a half ago.. When I picked this beauty up and plugged her in to a Marshall MG (solid state) halfstack, I was simply amazed. I Have never before and never since played a guitar with more Diversity in tone. You can get the sweetest tone out of those EMG's you will ever hear. Buy one, you will not regret it. Whether it be a C-1 Hellraiser, or a c-7. I am addicted to Schecter!

This thing is awesome. When I play it I feel like Suicide Silence (Wait they do play this). It is so awesome! It ate my dog and spit out its bones playing a catchy Job For A Cowboy song! I would recommend this guitar for anyone! :D

RAISE SOME HELL!!!

By Jon

from Kissimmee FL

I played this today on a Line6/Bogner MKII 2x12 and this guitar is beastly. The neck is just right if you are used to a 6 string guitar, And the neck-through design is fantastic. The EMG 707s make the already low B sound even more metal. This guitar probbably ways about 4-5 pounds, as opposed to the usual 7-8 punds on Mahogany guitars. And the weight is even throughout. The ONLY thing i wish was different, i wish it had EBONY fretboard instead of a Rosewood. But this guitar is still fantastic. Oh and the Split coil deal makes it play cleans VERY well.

amazing guitar

By dbeezy1988

from Houston, Texas

After playing this guitar as much as i have, it just easy to say this guitar is great for any metal player. I was very unsure about it being a 7 string, but picked it up and quickly adapted to it. the neck is very fast and easy to navigate. This guitar begs to be shredded on. This is just an amazing guitar

Great Guitar

By Shawn

from Franklin, Wi

This guitar is simply awesome. Now the emg's take away from playing other styles sadly but it does complement metal. Bands live nevermore, veil of maya, and necrophagist, use guitars somewhat like this. Has a great feel to it and easy to move around the next. I would suggest to increase the string size though, have fun playing this beast!
