Overview

Built with neck-thru construction and a sleek contoured body, the Hellraiser C-1 Extreme is armed with a pair of active EMG pickups with black chrome covers, a TonePros TOM w/ string-thru body bridge and Schecter locking tuners. Elegant design appointments include "Gothic Crosses" inlay on your choice of ebony or flamed maple fretboard, and the entire guitar is adorned with black chrome hardware.

Multi-laminate maple & walnut neck
Made from 3 pieces of maple and 2 center strips of walnut. This well balanced combination of select wood takes the bright tones of maple and adds a dark tone from the walnut strips. Often used for Thru neck construction giving the acoustic tone of the instrument a perfect string vibration transfer to the body.

Choice of ebony or flamed maple fretboard
Giving the player the ultimate in versatility and tone, you have the option of selecting ebony with its snappy crisp attack or flamed maple with it's dense bright and reflective tone.

EMG active 81/89R active pickups
The 81 utilizes powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils for tone that was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. This pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. The 89 is loaded with Alnico V magnets and has separate preamps each providing custom outputs for both dual coil and single coil modes (R Version use REAR coil). In dual-coil mode, the sound is rich, warm and powerful, but still very clear and is similar to the 85.

Schecter locking tuning machines
Schecter locking tuners feature a locking screw pin to lock the string into place for greater tuning stability. Details include a 19:1 gear ratio allowing for precise fine tuning adjustments, removable knobs, threaded peghead bushing and a 10mm diameter peg hole.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Extreme Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar a couple years ago and it has been my go-to guitar for any style of music since I got it. Obviously this beauty is geared towards metal, but the EMG 89R in the neck really diversifies the tones you can get out of it. The 81 in the bridge gets a screaming tone, lots of mid range and high end to it so you can easily boost the bass a bit on you amp if you want a darker tone but you'll never worry about cutting through the mix enough! The ONLY thing I'd ever consider a "downside" to this beast is the fact that the neck pickup can single coil tap, but honestly, its not a big enough issue for me to worry about.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Extreme Electric Guitar:

I bought it in 2012 just after saw it in NAMM. I admit I felt in love for the color, sound, and features offered at this price.
In another hand I was disappointed by finish it could really be better and that's the most issue with Asian made craft. Fortunately it wasn't poor like my LTD.
The binding has cracks since I've got it, screwed parts present holes we see it's a quick made.
And like a previous user I think the volume knob is not at the best place.
To be sincere, excepting those points it's really a great guitar and I enjoy play on

    Too Bad

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Extreme Electric Guitar:

When I opened the box I was pretty impressed. The guitar looked and felt great. Probably one of the most disappointing moments when I played it though as the design housed the volume knob directly underneath the bridge pickup where my hand would continually make contact and roll the knob. I knew within 1 minute that this beautiful guitar I had researched for weeks was going back. Might be great for someone else but for me it just didn't fit. They should look into moving the knobs. There is plenty of room on the body to make it work.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Extreme Electric Guitar:

The other review was a bit lacking in the detail department, so I figured I'd give my take on the guitar. I got the 3 tone sunburst w/ebony neck and firstly, it looks awesome. The quilted maple top reflects differently at different angles and the whole guitar looks classy, glad they put the pearl binding in this one rather than the abalone, I think abalone works in some guitars, but it can be a bit over the top in others.

The feel of it is great, the satin finish makes it oh so smooth and you really don't want to put it down once you start playing it. The neck is about the same width as the other c-1's, felt very similar to my blackjack sls, but a little bit more well balanced.

The emg 81/89 set is nice, It took me a minute to dial in some new amp settings for the guitar, my old settings sounded a bit too thin & bright, but once I dialed it in it sounded great. Of all my guitars, this one probably has the most different usable tones. Most guitars I just crank all the pots up & head to the bridge on the selecter & that's where it pretty much stays. I found on this guitar the tone and volume adjustments gave me a myriad of choices that still sounded awesome! Given that the coil tapping feature has barely been...tapped yet(sorry, couldn't help myself), I forsee this being my go-to guitar for most styles that I play. I might even try to do a video review at some point and put it on the ol' utubs since there don't seem to be many reviews out there for this mammer jammer, but we'll see. The only downside is the pricetag, but I'd say it's worth saving up for. I would be interested to try out the maple neck version as well & feel out the differences.

      GREAT GUITAR

      By JEFFREY WEBSTER

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Extreme Electric Guitar:

Great all around quality in this guitar. From the EMG pick-ups, to the easy feeling neck, and the overall tone of this guitar is awesome. The EMG'S of course scream! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it didn't come with a case. You send $1,000 on a guitar, it should have a case! My opinion...I have a ESP EC-1000, Les Paul Studio, ESP KH-202, {now withe EMG pick-ups!}, and the tone is the best out of these guitars. Very happy with this guitar. I have had this guitar now for 3 months, Christmas present to myself!

      HellRaiser Extreme!

      By Michael Runkel

      from Brownstown

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Extreme Electric Guitar:

This s an absolutely AWESOME guitar! I particularly love the set neck that has ultimate access to every fret. The Ebony fingerboard is absolutely lovely and is so smooth that you might mistake it for some other material besides wood. The Gothic cross and other patterns that make up the inlays are a work of art. Besides all the aesthetics this guitar rocks! If you love Metal, you'll love how the active EMG pick-ups howl and scream. There is plenty of sustain thanks to the string - through construction and quality in the way this thing is built. Rock solid and beautiful to behold. You gotta love it!
