I am not you typical church musician.... I've had this guitar for 6 months. I really Like it. I play out every week and it sounds great. The active EMG's are fantastic. These EMG's are the things squeels are made of. Great sustain. Rippin leads. The coil tap is very useful for clean picking. The feel of the neck is one of the great things about it. It is kind of thick. A thin neck wears my hand out and I don't have that problem with this guitar. I also like the quilted maple top. It looks great. I am shopping for the exact same guitar with a FloydRose right now. I have been studying Trem Techniques and have come close to mastering it so it is time for an upgrade from my Ibanez. I know these active pick ups will scream dive bomb harmonics. so the EMG 81TW/89 is a must for me. There is no other option. I came across this and figured my review would help someone. If you come from a rock/metal background you will find no better combination than this guitar with a Line 6 Pod X3 live!!

This is a great guitar. But for the price, you could get the Damien Elite which is almost the exact same guitar, for about half the price. Same EMG's same neck, and throw in a floyd rose for still MUCH CHEAPER than this guitar. This guitar ,however, has a slightly more detailed flame top, but is it really worth 300+ more for a slightly more detailed finish?

Schecter makes a beautiful and extremely durable guitar. The tone is versatile, so if you like fat/chunky metal rhythm or if you want the sustain and pitch to shred, this thing fits the bill.
The neck is a little thick on the one i have but its very easy to overlook.
        Worth every penny!

        WOOOOOOOOOOW

        By William

        from Martinsburg, WV

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Electric Guitar:

One word describes this guitar. WOW! This is honestly my first schecter guitar. I've been playing since I was around 10 years old. I'm 27 now. I have owned a few guitars over those years. I have always been a washburn then Ibanez fan. I loved my ibanez. I have to say that this Schecter guitar puts it to shame. I was hesitant at first when looking at Schecter because I never owned one. I am glad I decided to take the plunge. First off in my opinion the detail of this guitar and everything that comes along with it is that of a 1,500-3,000 guitar easily. I actually ended up buying the red version. I am NOT a red person but it was on sale and I decided to take the plunge. I got this guitar for a STEAL from guitar center online. The red is absolutely freaking amazing, the pearl inlays around the edges and the gothic crosses in the fretboard are ridiculously beautiful. I got the guitar for playing Rock/Metal. But I have to say that when messing around with the different options it has, it has an awesome clean sound to it. It is amazing how clear it is actually. If you are on the fence about buying this guitar DO IT! You will absolutely not regret it. I read several people over the internet complaining about the neck being painted and sticky and not very easy to slide up and down. That is BS either they are drunk or high when playing because the gloss and the neck are so smooth. My hands just glad down this thing. I can play on this thing like I've never been able to play before. This will NOT be my last Schecter guitar. The price vs. quality of what you are getting is absolutely astonishing!

        Bought mines Used... BEWARE!

        By Lee Rua Ly

        from Spartanburg, South Carolina

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Electric Guitar:

I bought this same guitar, but used... unfortunately mines came with an old and rusted looking bridge, and the tone switch cap was missing (Really?) Wish Guitar Center would post more detailed pictures of their used guitars. Besides that everything was fine. If you buy used be ready to change the battery. It plays really good and looks like a beast. Would highly recommend buying it new if you can, but used isn't all bad.. just pray you get a good one.

        This guitar has everything

        By David McCarthy

        from Tysons Corner, VA.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Electric Guitar:

Did quite of research and comparison shopping and this guitar has more features for less cash. Mahogany body, mahogany neck, coil-splitting, Tusq XL nut, doesn't go overboard w/ the MOP binding, locking tuners etc... This axe has so much sustain its not even funny and its ready to play right out of the box which is nice. The guitar is finely detailed/no sharp edges on the fret ends or unfinished neck binding. The axe feels really good in your hands because all of this. My first new, quality axe purchase. I'm glad I purchased this axe from GC because I got the good price & didn't have to wait long.

        beast just shy of masterpiece

        By donald bunce

        from New Jersey

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Electric Guitar:

Had to get this guitar. Played a few at GC (b.c. rich mockingbird, jackson something, and this baby) and brought this one home. Owned it for about 15 days now. Great for playing some hard rock or metal. The tone is nice, thick and beefy. (sounds ok clean, but I also own an epiphone les paul which trumps that aspect) The EMGs are living up to expectation. Never played them before, because I was rockin' out on an old Ibanez Gio. I can tell a major difference. The frets were rough to the touch at first, but in a matter of minutes I was back to normal playing speed. Once the oil from your skin gets into the fretboard, you'll be good to go. The sustain is not so great. If you like to practice a lot of legato licks than this may frustrate you. You can mess with the coil tap to help out some of the notes, but its the only reason I gave this 4 stars and am even contemplating bring this guitar back. This guitar does have many tones you can get out of it, but they are very slight changes between sound and hard to register for a more novice player. Hope this review helped. Thanks

        Amazing

        By Elery D

        from Chicago IL

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-1 Electric Guitar:

Just bought this guitar New Years Eve. I've always been a Schecter player but this one took my by surprise! The EMGs one this thing are amazing. The cleans this thing gives off I love the most especially when I add some chorus and a crack of distortion. The coil tap is way more noticeable than my Tempest. It stays it tune very well thanks to the locking tuners. And it just looks sexy! I've already gotten many compliments on the looks and by how it plays. This guitar has now taken my Tempest's spot as my main axe in Drop C. It's cheap for how amazing of a guitar it is. I'd recommend this guitar to anyone.
