I have owned many guitars in my time but this one shrieks like no other I've played before. The EMG 81/85 active pickup combination makes this guitar extremely versatile and provides massive punch. Throw this guitar onto a modeled amp or a clean amp with a distortion pedal and you're ready to anger your neighbors.
I bought this guitar a few months ago and it is incredible! its active EMG 81/85 humbuckers create sounds like no other. its great for any genre, smooth, low sounds for calmer types then heavy destructive tones that scream easily. i strongly recomend this guitar for anyone. its well priced and worth it!
i strongly recomend this guitar for anyone who plays metal. if i only turn the rear pickup on and plug it into my peavy vypyr amp and put a bassy tone to it, i seriously have a sound as good as metallica.
The guitar itself is surprisingly small and light, however it plays heavier than anything else I've had my hands on. The actice EMG pickups are everything you want tonewise, far surpassing my Epiphone on either clean or distortion. This guitar can be played for a softer sound with beautiful tone and action, however where it really astounds me is when I crank on the distortion. The pickups deliver a BRUTAL sound, be it palm muting and riffs or screeching lead parts. Pinch harmonics are effortless, and the sustain seems to carry on forever. This guitar far outclasses anything else you'll find for a price so low.
i just got this guitar and i gotta say it is gorgeous i got the black one and in the light it sparkles the sound is amazing and plays so fast great clean tone but when you turn on the distortion it screams i been playing 4 years and had 4 guitars in my past and this one beats them all by far buy this guitar its well worth it
That's what I thought when I first played one of these...this guitar is $500.00??? What a steal!! Being a loyal Gibson player I wasn't quite sure if I'd like a Schecter, but after checking one out, I knew I had to have one. I ordered it in the metal flake black, and it's a beautiful finish. Along with the fantastic contour, (the body is not flat)and oh, those beautiful inlays, this guitar is a real stunner! What really drew me to it was the pick-ups. I've been considering putting EMG's in my SG but wanted to check them out and that's how I found this beauty. The pick-ups are amazing and combined with the thinner neck (great for smaller hands) and super fast action and 24 frets this is a guitar that gets the job done when it comes to metal. It's a really well crafted guitar, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommed it. This is my first Schecter, it won't be my last....
i got this guitar because my vintage 1988 dean firecrackles' locking tremelo ripped itself off due due just being old. the schecter gives me an incredible tone, the thick mahogany body and the active emgs' give me perfect balance. i love this thing to death, and ive only had it for 3 days!!!!! im getting a metal tone that Chuck Norris would approve. super clean crisp clean tone and just a good tone everywhere in between. great guitar and im super happy. gonna go back to playin now
Well, I have played this guitar nearly non-stop since I got it. In fact I like playing it so well I took a weeks vacation to do so. The sound is great although not as 'warm' as my Michael Kelly with passive humbuckers, but definitely fits the need and produces the gritty, edgey sound the MK cannot. Furthermore, it does not sound 'muddy' on low volume settings like some other guitars I have played. It is well balanced and a little lighter than either my MK or Epiphone. I do wish it had a set in neck, but that being said the sustain of this guitar is great considering it is a bolt on. Grover tuners are definitely a nice addition as well. I would consider this Guitar equal in quality with my other favorite guitar, the MK Patriot Decree. If you are looking for a guitar to shred with, play metal or need something to hit notes with clarity in any situation then the Schecter is what you are looking for. The money I spent on this gem is well worth it!
For the price of this guitar, it packs a lot of punch. The looks are great and everything ties together nicely. I've played a lot more expensive guitars that don't come close to this one. It can go from deathcore distortion to a beautiful clean sounding tone in a second and pulls off both great.
i wrote a review of this when i got it from musicians friend. i praised it then and even more now. ive had this for a year and a half and it has never served me badly and i have never looked back at the other ideas i had when i was shopping for a new guitar. this thing is so perfect i dont believe it actually exists and i have been dreaming for the past 1.5 years! its clean sound is beautiful, more so than a strats or even an acoustics. its distortion is not to be underestimated either. the price of this guitar is a steel, any other brand would charge well over a grand for the equivalent of this schecter. the neck is thinner than a hellraisers or a blackjacks and pretty much the same pickups. so what if its a bolt on neck? also, this thing has the coolest inlays out there. you will never regret this purchase. if you want a floyd rose, get the floyd rose version. if i ever want a floyd rose guitar im getting the damien elite fr thats for sure!
I am a fan of a few different styles of music. I have a Fender American for blues, a Les Paul for Rock, and puchased this gem for metal. I am still in love with the Strat and the Paul but this thing easily takes the place of the other two. Beautiful warm clean tone to smooth overdrive to face melting distortion. This guitar does whatever you need it to do. Have no fear with this purchase.
This is a great guitar, I play it more than my Hellraiser c-1, sounds the same to me, and much lighter
This guitar sounds like gold on any amp. The active EMG 81/81 pickups are beautiful on clean, but the biggest surprise is when you turn on the distortion. They're the same pickups that Zakk Wylde uses, so you know that you can't go too wrong. Currently using it with a Washburn Soloist Distortion pedal. I got the see thru black option, which everyone says looks amazing. The inlays are, obviously, gorgeous. Get this guitar. Only problems I had with it was when i first got it there was a massive amount of fret buzz, but as soon as I lifted up the bridge a little it cleared up.
