The Damien Elite Avenger electric guitar sets itself apart from the crowd with an eye-catching, sweeping Avenger double-cutaway while the tried-and true tonewood combination of mahogany body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard provide a balanced tonal resonance mix for the hot, active EMG humbuckers. The Floyd Rose Special trem lets you perform feats of whammy-bar derring do without a net.
The most commonly fretboard wood, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.
EMG Active 81/85 humbuckers
One of the most popular EMG’s the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can only be described as blistering.
Although the EMG-85 Humbucker has more measurable output than the 81, its frequency response and string interface are different. The 85 uses 2 Alnico magnet-loaded coils with a wide aperture to maintain a beefy low end and a fatter top end. Because of a more natural tone, it works great as a rhythm and blues pickup because it has loads of output but isn't muddy. It's a perfect choice as a rhythm pickup in combination with an 81 in the bridge.
Grover Rotomatics with 18:1 gear ratio. The original Rotomatic® with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination.

Got this guitar today and it is amazing! I didn't play it at my local GC but really its awesome. The pickups sound good. The trem works wonders it barely gets out of tune. The neck is good for small hands its similar to a strat neck. The finish is nice and smooth overall its a good guitar for its price.
i just got this guitar from ups after waiting a week, and man...was it worth the wait! This guitar is amazing! I got the metallic black color and it looks nothing like it in real life, in real life this guitar looks amazing! This guitar also sounds beautiful too! The floyd rose special holds it in tune for a very, very long time! If you are looking to buy a guitar that is really heavy but also has that "crispy clean" sound from schecter i think this is your best bet I dont know how its being sold for 580! And the shape is beautiful too!
The new Schecter Damien Elite Avenger guitar is just awesome. I tried a bunch of times to get an Avenger but never had any luck until Schecter made them cheaper. The Damien Elite Avenger has a nice neck for small hands and comfortable body. The active EMG pickups are completely hot (81/85 set). The Grover tuners stay in tune well with the Floyd Rose bridge. The new Damien Elite Avenger FR guitar is also perfect if anyone is a Synyster Gates fan but want an Avenger guitar to call your own. I highly recommend this guitar. I got it at a music store about an hour away from me on April 1st. Also the see-thru black finish is the best finish to my opinion but if you prefer the metallic black finish then go for it. The neck is way comfortable to play on as well. Also this guitar is great for metal, heavy metal, hardcore, and metalcore if you are into those genres. Schecter Rules!
