One of the Best Guitars Out There for the Money

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research C-1 SPECIAL:

I can't believe I'm the first one to review this product, but I had to write about how thrilled I am with this purchase. I've had this guitar for about a month and a half and had a hard time putting it down in favor of the other 7 or 8 guitars in my collection--I think it's my favorite now. Schecter makes GREAT quality products with superior quality control to begin with, so the low price tag on this one was an even bigger benefit. It has great pickups (Duncan Designed), which while not real Seymour Duncans, they really aren't far below the real thing. The action and intonation were great out of the box (I got one still in the box), so no real set-up adjustments were necessary (which is rare for any other guitar I've owned). The strings are nice and have stayed close to in tune, and the gold finish is SWEET! I would highly recommend this guitar--I use it a lot for both performance and recording (it's lighter than some of my other guitars) and has a great feel.

Great Buy

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research C-1 SPECIAL:

This guitar caught my eye immediately with it's atomic orange body and head-stock. The instant I picked it up I knew I had to have it. I figured I would add it to my collection, throw some heavier strings on it and leave it drop tuned. Even though it's more of an entry level guitar it sounded great. As the other reviewer stated, it comes with Duncan Design pick-ups, which are not Duncan brand, but still sounds pretty darn good (I may swap them out eventually for something different). Anyhow, I find that I can't put this thing down! It's light weight (compared to my Les Paul) is a joy to play with! I love the push/pull tone control for coil-tapping and quick tone-tweaking. My only complaint (and this really isn't a complaint) is that the edge of the body is very sharp and really bites into your arm. (nothing an armband won't fix) A slight bevel on the top edge would have been great.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research C-1 SPECIAL:

Out of all the guitars I have owned over the years, I think this one deserves a permanent spot in my collection. Fun to play, action was playable off the hangar but after some tweaking it is a dream to play. Matte gold finish looks great. Pick ups sound good. I agree with the other review the top edge where you rest your forearm can lead to some minor soreness. But as you play it you will get used to it and adjust your playing style. My nephew liked my Schecter so much he got an Omen 6. So if you like a beefy tone with dual humbuckers to hammer out some heavy riffs. This is the brand to go after.
