The Schecter C-1 FR Platinum Electric Guitar takes everything guitar players love about the popular C-1, and adds a Floyd Rose Special locking tremolo system. It boasts a double cutaway mahogany body, 25.5" scale set maple neck, and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. A Schecter Ultra Access neck joint lets you reach the entire fretboard with ease and comfort. It's loaded with a pair of EMG Active 81/85 pickups for an incredible range of tones. And the Floyd Rose Special allows for the most extreme whammy effects, while keeping your guitar perfectly in tune. Appointments include dot fingerboard inlays, fretboard and body binding, and satin chrome hardware.
The original Rotomatic® with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination
The most common fretboard, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.
EMG Active 81/85 pickups
One of the most popular EMG’s the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can only be described as blistering. Recommended pairings include the classic 81/85 setup.
Three-piece maple neck
Three-piece necks can withstand the test of time and are designed to give you extra stability. Where standard necks may show aging defects from temperature and moisture changes throughout the years, the three-piece neck will stay nice and straight for a lifetime of playability.

I got this guitar a few weeks ago as my Christmas and birthday present and i cant put it down. It sounds amazing and plays amazingly. This is my second guitar and and i can tell that i'm going to be using it for years. The only problem i would say it has is the fr. I only say that because its my first guitar with a fr so its taking to to get used to but other than that this is an amazing guitar and i recommend it to anyone and everyone who is looking for a new guitar.
Great guitar. The neck feels and plays great and stays stable through temperature changes. Very hot pickups, as you should expect from EMG. Beautiful finish, top, and binding. This guitar could stand up against guitars worth 700-850$ and hold its own. The set-thru neck joint style thing that Schecter does is phenomenal. You get that neck-thru feel at a set-neck price. I got mine for 500$ and have had it for about 3 months now and I have no regrets at all. For any rock/metal player looking for a Floyd Rose style guitar that sounds like a beast, this should definately be considered. If this is your first Floyd-loaded guitar, however, make sure you know what you are getting into. Re-stringing and setup becomes difficult and cumbersome when using a Floyd, and if you happen to break a string on stage, well.... But thats a price you have to pay for being able to do things like dime-squeals and dive bombs while holding perfect tuning. Once you've set this guitar up and tuned it to pitch, you very rarely have to make any adjustments. 5/5. Great buy.
I'm normally an Ibanez guy, owning an original RG550. I became accustomed to a certain level of quality and playability in a guitar. I must say I was hesitant at first, but I purchased this guitar during a flash event sale and when it arrived it was in perfect tune and perfectly setup right out of the box. It has excellent tone and plays very nicely. I also have an Ibanez RGIR20E and this guitar plays as good as either the RG550 or the RGIR20E. The Active EMG 81 / 85 are an awesome addition to any metal guitar. I am now a fan of Schecter and will be buying more of their guitars.
I bought one of these about a year ago and I absolutely love it! I walked into GC with a particular guitar in mind and on a whim, tried this Schecter. From that point on, nothing else in the store could compare to this axe. At first I wasn't too excited about the satin finish; however, it is so comfortable and fast! This is a very well built guitar and no matter what I do to it, the thing stays in tune with all of my abuse. Since I bought it, my other guitars have seen little use. I am now a life-long Schecter fan!
after an 18 year break I am back in the rock game so I took some of my gig money and bought this guitar online and had it delivered to my local(Columbus,ohio,60 mile drive for me)guitar center.i did it that way so that I could get a refund if I didn't like it.first let me say that when I went to pick up the guitar the salesman unpacked it and we noticed that the whammy bar was missing and the guitar was very dusty, it apparently was taken directly off the rack and I believe it came from the kalamazoo Michigan store based on the shipping label, the salesman detected my disappointment and offered to re-order it for me but I looked it over and decided to keep it and the salesman got me a whammy bar from another guitar,so while the staff at the Columbus store was awesome I'll probably get my next axe from musicians friend where I'm assured it hasn't been knocked around by some kids for who knows how long. now to the guitar, its awesome, the finish is flawless, the tone amazing and the price was right.my band plays a wide variety of music rangeing from zac brown to johnny cash to pink to non point and korn and this guitar can do it all I highly recommend this beautiful, versitile instrument it is a great addition to my arsenal
To start off, I love Metal, and I love to shred and beef out riffs. With this sleek guitar I was able to reach and scale through the whole neck with out a hassle. Each vibrato and harmonic sounds so bright and alive. With the emg pick ups on this baby, it makes the guitar even a more beautiful sounding piece of wood. The Floyd was kind of stiff because it was new but after a few yanks on her it started performing great. This guitar also stays in tune very well. Recommend using gauge size 10-42. This gauge allows very dynamic harmonics and tone on this guitar, cause the bridge sets itself at a perfect level with that gauge, so it that allows very dynamic solos. Sooo overall view a give this guitar a 5 out of 5. Fyi. I forgot to mention I run this guitar through VOX VT120.
This is my my third guitar and I must say that it is the best one! The neck is really smooth and comfortable. I'm really satisfied with the great sustain in its sound too! The sound is great for playing metal and it feels just right for moving all around the fingerboard. All together I'd say it's a really nice guitar, you can tell immediately how great the quality is. So if you're looking for something good to shred, this is a good guitar to look into!
