Schecter is breaking new musical ground with their Slim Line Series of electric guitars. Designed with an ultra-thin, lighting fast neck and a sleek contoured body, the Blackjack SLS SOLO Active is armed with a pair of active Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups, a TonePros with string-thru body bridge, and Schecter locking tuners. Elegant design appointments include a "Hell's Gate Skull" inlay on its ebony fretboard, and the entire guitar is adorned with black chrome hardware.

3-piece maple neck
Made with 3 pieces of maple for extra stability. 3-Piece necks can withstand the test of time. Where standard necks may show aging defects from temperature and moisture changes throughout the years, the 3-piece neck will stay nice and straight for a lifetime of playability.

Satin finish and Ultra-Thin profile
The SLS collection features a satin finish neck for lightning fast playing above and below the 12th fret and an ultra-thin neck profile (19mm at 1st fret/20mm at 12th fret).

Ebony fretboard
Ebony has a snappy, crisp attack with the density of maple, but with more brittle grains, oilier pores, and a stronger fundamental tone than maple. It has a tremendous amount of percussive overtones in the pick attack, that mute out shortly thereafter to foster great, long sustain.

Seymour Duncan Blackout active pickups
Blackouts capture the tone that players want in an active design using balanced inputs. The result is 12dB to 14dB less noise, plus more lows, highs and output.

Schecter locking tuning machines
These tuners feature a locking screw pin to lock the string into place for greater tuning stability. Details include a 19:1 gear ratio allowing for precise fine tuning adjustments, removable knobs, threaded peghead bushing and a 10mm diameter peg hole.

Hell's Gate Skull inlay
The mother-of-pearl 'Hell's Gate Skull' inlay compliments the beautiful ebony fretboard. The thin white binding strip adds a nice highlight.

Amazing piece of art.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack SLS SOLO Active Electric Guitar:

I received my guitar, and all I can say is amazing. I have instantly become a better guitar player. It takes your skills and seems to make them perfect. The SD blackouts are pristine, and I have never played a cleaner sounding guitar. I think the amazing paint and design both help as well. When you have this guitar strapped on, you feel pretty much like a rock god; I have started developing skills I didn't know I had. Plain and simple, if you are looking for that perfect guitar and have a decent budget, then buy this guitar. No questions about it, just do it; You absolutely will not regret it.

Truly a 5 Star Guitar

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack SLS SOLO Active Electric Guitar:

Tip of the hat,if there ever was a guitar that deserved a 5 star rating I have found the ONE,No Joke! See Thru~Blue model/my first Schecter ~ The quality of this guitar is off the chart, the ultra fast neck is the smoothest most guitarist friendly I have found when I seen XL Jumbo frets I think of 1/4 high lol but not the case & I have always been a fan of Ebony & this neck would be a shredders dream.People have said before the better the quality of your instrument the better the player becomes,I let four of my students play this guitar & now have three parents not to happy with me, but on the hand they seen the difference in there teens playing ability I say it all because of this neck. The Pick~ups are top notch Metal set up BUT I can get some really nice Blue's tones & have fun experimenting, the overall tone through a 6505+ Peavey Head/ Peavey 4X12 Cab all I can say is I can NOT ask for more thank to a true solid wood body (Little on the heavy side but SO WHAT I want the wood, can we say TONE) The finish is just a work of art the picture does it NO JUSTICE the 12th fret skull is a plus but I'm blowin away by the inlay of the Schecter Logo on the head stock,& the white Binding on the body & head stock makes this guitar POP ... In a nutshell You can not find a guitar of this quality for this price , I do not see how anyone is making money selling this guitar at the price offered & I will be Buying the Black one Next!!!!!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack SLS SOLO Active Electric Guitar:

Tip of the hat, In Feb of 2013 I ordered the blue one. When your arrive make sure you have a big space for unpacking this guitar, theres a box, within a box, within a box, within a box (LOVE IT) The Locking Tuners are SUPER on this piece of art I use Skinny Top Heavy Bottoms from Ernie Ball (But this does come from the shop with Premium Ernie Ball Set on it which I wore out breaking it in using 440 tuning)In Standard 440 I have NO issues staying in tune Same with the Skinny Top Set in 440,B,Drop D & My standard Drop C NONE. The BO Pick Ups are all you need for Hard Rock ~ Thrash You want Heavy ? It gets NO BETTER than these !! The fretboard & neck are a dream for me Lightning Fast & Fits me like a glove no joke this is the BEST feel I have ever had in my 30 years of playing. The finish & look of this guitar is Artwork I'm just so over the moon of it's look & feel I just call it a piece of art.Now there always a But & here it is (lol) this guitar has some weight to it BUT weight equals quality wood which in turn means TONE in my ears at-least ,I'll tell you how much I love this guitar for the past 27 days I now own TWO of the Blue One Now & am About to Grab one of the Black One & thats another reason I give it 5 Stars ,Both ordered from GC

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack SLS SOLO Active Electric Guitar:

Have had mine for about a week now, I ordered the see-thru blue burst model (active), and mine came with offset MoP dot inlays rather that the cheesy looking skull one shown. It looks fantastic, even the back of the neck is painted in a satin blue finish (same color as the body). It came setup perfectly right out of the box, and plays like a dream. Even with drop tuning it still plays perfectly with no fret-buzz,(I go from standard E down to C# standard for some old Sabbath, and everywhere in between ) and the sculpted out body below the cutaway makes it sooo easy to get to the higher frets. The Blackouts correct everything I didn't like about my EMGs in other guitars. Where i found my EMGs made a hell of a lot of noise in high-gain settings, these are deathly quiet at the same settings (I play through a Line 6 POD HD-500 with Shure headphones), and seem a bit more organic and give a bit more dynamics (harmonics still scream!). Had to tweak my clean settings just a little to get a true clean sound, but didn't take much. This is definitely a quality instrument and was well worth the investment!
