Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack ATX C-1 Electric Guitar:
Let me start off by saying this guitar is best suited for rock and heavy metal styles. If you're looking at getting a guitar for something other than these two genres, I would look elsewhere. With that out of the way, the Schecter Blackjack ATX C-1 is a dream to play. With a mahogany neck and body, ebony fretboard, locking tuners, active Seymour Duncan Blackouts pickups and set neck construction, this axe is fully decked out, and has most of the features of a very high end guitar. Along with these features is a satin finish with aged binding along the body, neck and headstock that adds a nice appeal to the instrument and gives it a classy touch. As far as sound and tone go, the Blackout pickups deliver crisp, clear highs and well defined mids, but where this instrument really excels is in the low end of the mix. This guitar was built for metal, and you can not only hear it, but you can feel it! With the combination of mahogany wood, set neck construction, ebony fretboard, locking tuners and a fixed bridge, the low tones resonate throughout and are picked up instantly. And with the Blackout pickups, this packs a seriously hefty low end punch. Sustain is good and clear and the cutaway gives very comfortable access to the higher register, both thanks again to the set neck. This is a monster of a guitar for live performing as well; you will be clearly heard no matter where your gig is. Even though mahogany is generally a heavier wood, the weight of the ATX C-1 isn't a hindrance for active stage performances. And with Schecter locking tuners and a fixed bridge design, you aren't going to take it out of tune easily at all. This could very well be the ultimate metal 6 string guitar, and if you don't have one, do yourself a favor and grab one. I guarantee its worth every cent and then some more!
