Overview

The Schecter Guitar Research Banshee-6 Active Electric Guitar is fully-equipped. It comes with an alder body and bolt-on multi-laminate neck. The fretboard is smooth ebony with 24 extra-jumbo frets and a compound radius for maximum comfort. Active EMG pickups produce plenty of tone control and power. Black chrome hardware completes the list of appointments.

Grover tuners
The original Rotomatic with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination

Ebony fretboard
Ebony has a snappy, crisp attack with the density of Maple, but with more brittle grains, oilier pores, and a stronger fundamental tone than Maple. It has a tremendous amount of percussive overtones in the pick attack, that mute out shortly thereafter to foster great, long, sustain

EMG active 81/85 pickups
One of the most popular EMG's the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can only be described as blistering. Recommended pairings include the classic 81/85 setup.

Multi-laminate maple & walnut neck
Made from 3 pieces of maple and 2 center strips of walnut. This well balanced combination of select wood takes the bright tones of maple and adds a dark tone from the walnut strips. Often used for Thru neck construction giving the acoustic tone of the instrument a perfect string vibration transfer to the body.

Compound radius fretboard (12"-16")
Everyone knows how comfortable vintage guitar necks are for rhythm, but without uncomfortably high action, string bending "frets-out" on the higher frets. With a Compound radius fretboard you get the comfort of a 12" radius at the lower frets for Chording and easy access of Soloing at the higher frets with the 16" radius, not to mention perfect playability at the lowest string height possible.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Banshee-6 Active Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar about 1 year ago. This is one of the best guitars I've ever owned. And I've owned many guitars. 1. Awesome neck. Very thin and the compound radius is fantastic. Very smooth and never gets sticky. 2. Active pickups. My first guitar with active pickups. They have power to spare. They sound really great. 3. Floyd Rose. This one stays in tune, and I use it a lot. 4. Right from the factory, this thing was perfect. Frets were level, setup was great, pickup height was spot on. 5. Not to heavy, but plenty of wood to give a great sound. 6. Can access all 24 frets with ease. 7. Volume and tone pots are perfect and easy to turn with my little finger. 8. Great tuning knobs. 18-1 is awesome. 9. the price is 1/3 the price of a comparable guitar from one of the "great guitar" makers. 10. The case I purchased for it is really great to. All in all, an awesome guitar that will last a very long time. Here is my theory. Gibson, Fender, and Ibanez are making cheap guitars and charging US (Japan) made prices. Schecter, ESP, Charvel, and some others are making Great guitars at a very reasonable price. I'd put my Schecter Banshee against any Fender strat and beat them every time. Try one and see for yourself.
