The omen 6 is the most recent guitar i've purchased and it'll most likely be the last. Right out of the box, it has a killer tone, great note clarity and excellent sustain. It has a great feel comparable to a PRS or Gibson guitar, very solid but not too heavy. I've run this guitar through a mountain of fx and it shines through better than any stock guitar in my arsenal. For the price of this guitar, you really can't be it, the closest being purchasing a cheaper guitar and then having to shell out for better pickups, which come standard on the omen 6. I can't imagine a feature or option other than slight cosmetic issues that i'd ever change on this beast.

I bought the omen six due to the fact that i left my previous guitar at home when i joined the army. I needed a decent guitar with a small pricetag and the omen six was a good deal. Although mine has fret buzzing from the first fret down, and it is difficult to fret the strings or perform bends. Although I hope that I can get this resolved by an expert who can fix these problems. But for the price it's definitly a good deal.

Excellent Guitar!!!

By Colten Bearhart

from Cumberland, WI

I've had my Omen 6 for about 2 months and I've had a lot of fun playing it, it's such a versatile guitar for a lower priced guitar! It sounds great and stays in tune, even after an hour of playing it in drop c tuning it stayed in tune quite well. the sustain is excellent, it's not really heavy like some solid body guitars are, it's very comfortable to hold and play, has 24 frets that are easily accessible. so all-in-all this is a great guitar for any level of playing, and a very affordable guitar.

Nothing but awsome

By Chris

from Virginia Beach, VA

I love this guitar. I play in my church and when im jamming out with my friends. it gets great tone. Plus it is built to last. i have droped it at least 5 times and it never got any damage. I had it for a while which is why i dropped it so much. but its my favorite guitar. i have 5 guitars. nothing can replace it. the pick ups are great. i still have the original pickups in it. i can play anything with it. definitly worth every penny

Great Starter Guitar....

By JET240Z

from Lakeland, FL

This an EXCELLENT guitar for the money, that plays well with any music style. The pickups may be the weakest part of the package(and the most common modification), but they are smooth and clear with or without distortion. My Omen 6 doesn't have any fret buzz problems, and I have my action fast and low, but every guitar is different. Test yours out before you buy it( or have a friend play it). And change the strings when you get it, the GHS applied strings suck. Try some Super Slinky's!!! If your thinking about picking up guitar don't get the cheap Squier starter packs. Spend a little more for this guitar and own something of far better quality, that will keep you happier longer, and with a pickup change, will become a flamethrower!!!

Change up by Schecter

By Kiwidagger

from Indiana

I mainly wanted to post an FYI about the Omen 6 and I'm sure regarding the Schecter's in general now. Apparently Schecter has relocated the manufacturing site from South Korea to China. My Omen 6 which is beautiful was made in China and that might explain some differences with other Omen's. My walnut satin color is not as deep a red as the others I have been looking at. Mine is lighter and shows off the grain more. Also, mine has nickel hardware and GROVER tuners vs. the diamond tuners it is supposed to have. It still is a beauty and I'm having fun playing it. As long as it has been inspected and setup here in the states by Schecter, as mine has, I'm confident in the change.

So much for expensive guitars.

By R.O.S. guitarist

from Drain, OR

Who needs an expensive guitar when you've got the Schecter Omen 6. I can't describe to you how great it is. You have to play one for yourself. It does everything a pricey guitar will do, and if you ask me... Much, much more. So put down the cup-o-noodles, and buy yourself a worthy dinner, and while you're at it, this worthy guitar. Guaranteed you won't be disappointed.

The ultimate entry-level electric

By Crowell Studios

from Smithfield, RI

I've been playing electric for 6 years now, and have gone through a few guitars (Squier Bullet, older Omen 6, Mexican Strat, Ibanez RG321)... I picked up this beauty in Guitar Center two days ago, held it in my arms, strummed it unplugged (to listen for buzzing), eyeballed the neck, and took it straight to the cash register. I'm in love! The model I got is flawless, unlike the Omen 6 I bought six years ago, which never sounded good on the sixth string. This thing came with a perfect setup, smooth frets with no buzzing, dead-on intonation on every string at every fret... I am truly in awe. Anyone recommending a first electric guitar for a player should recommend this one. It is good for blues as well as metal, and as the other reviews attest, if you outgrow the sound you can swap out the pups for EMG's. Buy a 10-pack of D'Addario EXL110's for it... mine came with them, as attested by the tag on its neck, so Schechter has wised up about their factory strings. This is the most comfortable, well-balanced electric guitar, better than the older Omen 6 models, and the neck is slim and smooth. The gloss black finish is gorgeous, just keep a cloth handy for wiping it off. Obviously, you shouldn't buy a guitar without checking for fret buzz, which is the best reason to get it at Guitar Center instead of online. The low action is another reason this is such a great guitar for beginners. You can play all day without hurting your fingers.

Great live guitar

By Shades

from Columbus, OH

This guitar has great tone. Flip the pickup selector to the bridge and you can get a nice aggressive sound out of it, even with siple overdrive! If you select the neck you get an awesome clean sound. In my opinion it has a little jazz/blues sound on that pickup. This does have a little too much pickup noise and fret noise for recording but live it is awesome!

I played this guitar one day at a pond shop, and I was AMAZED! The pickups have a good crunchy tone to them, and they don't buzz. This is a great guitar for a great price. Buy it!!!

EWWW!

By Dr. Shredmaster

possibly the worst guitar ive ever played excluding squiers. knockoff schecter pickups and tuners. the fretboard feels awful to play paint wears easily and body dents very easily. it may be a good guitar for starters but i would not recomend it for any other experience level.

Great Buy For First Electric

By Lefty44

from Bowie, Maryland

I bought this guitar as my first electric guitar and it is probably the best value and the best guitar you can find for that stage. It does not have the greatest features but they get the job down better then well. This is a great guitar and i reccommend it to any Beginner/Intermediate guitarist.

A Letdown

By Josh

from Phoenix, AZ

This is the second Schecter Oman 6 I have purchased in the last month. The first Omen 6 did not hold a tune on the E string. In addition, the rest of the strings would go out of tune randomly. I took it to Guitar Center where the technician agreed with me. They ordered another Omen 6 and when it arrived, the intonation was off and the E string harmonics on the 12th fret would not tune at all. Again, an expert looked at the guitar and agreed with the findings. I know Schecter has a good reputation of quality and this was a severe disappointment.

Ground Wire

By AssCrustGoblin

from Redmond, WA

The guitar has a constant buzz when plugged into an amp. I decided to take a look and see what was wrong with it. I found that the guitar doesnt have a ground wire. This is a fairly easy fix but if you're not into working on your guitar and u play gigs i wouldn't reccomend this guitar to you.

Okay

By danjam

from Long Island, NY

This is definitly not the best guitar, even in its best price range, because of excessive fret buzz, I have seen guitars cheaper with less fret buzz, but other than that it has a nice sound. I would reccomend going the extra $100 to buy something that will not get you furstrated though.

Good guitar for the price

By Dan

from Phoenix, Az

I have had this guitar for around 3 years now, played well until recently the tone pot got scratchy. I went to change the pots and the wiring was incorrect, and done with wire nuts instead of soldering. I changed all the parts (CTS pots, SwitchCraft switch and jack) and actually soldered it. Now it sounds better than the day I bought it. I suggest if you get this guitar to change the internals, for about $40 more you wont regret it

Worth Every Cent

By Matt

from WI

This guitar is AMAZING. I bought this along with the Line 6 Spider IV amp, and it sounds absolutely amazing. I play everything from bands like Seether to Slipknot, and this guitar can do it all without a problem. If you're looking for a guitar that can play all kinds of music, the Omen 6 is the guitar to get.

Cool Guitar

By JP

from San Diego, California

This is a really cool guitar. I got the Walnut Satin for my birthday and it is an awesome looking guitar, but I've had it for about 3 years now and I already have to replace the pickups and the strings. But it did well for the first year and a half or so. This guitar is also a little bit spendy for what you get. I use mine just for show now because it is tough to play. This guitar holds it's tune for about 2-3 weeks if you play it quite a bit. Bending puts it out of tune a tiny bit, but otherwise, I would recommend this guitar just for it's looks and it's sound. (the sound for about 2 years) Kinda expensive, but probably worth it!!!!!

Great Metal Guitar

By Thrash King

from Kirkland WA

When I first bought this guitar, I was skeptical of what it would sound like due to the history of Schecter guitars and the relitavely low price. I was soon corrected! This is a great guitar for any metal enthusiast. Sounds absolutely fantastic for fast, loud thrashy Metallica music. Its also worth noting that this guitar sounds amazing even in dropped tunings. Ive dropped to A to perform slipknot covers and the notes still have excelent distinction and sustain. All in all, if you are after a versatile, great sounding guitar for a low price, i would highly recoment this guitar.
