THIS IS THE BEST GUITAR I HAVE EVER PLAYED IN MY LIFE. I have had this guitar for two years, and i own four other guitars (Epiphones, Schecters, Fenders)and have played countless amounts of guitars and This C-1 is my favorite. My fender is about $700 more than this guitar and i choose the C-1 any day, it is light, and so comforting when playing. Whether you're a new or veteran player you HAVE to have it, if you love playing guitar.
I first played a Schecter at NAMM a few years back and was very impressed not only with the quality but also the price! Far more inferior guitars sell for a whole lot more. A few weeks ago I ordered, then received, my C-1 standard. I was not disappointed! First of all, the guitar is just beautiful! I ordered it in the Dark Brown Sunburst and I have to say that the pictures online don't do it justice. The finish is darker and "smokier" than what you see online, which is perfect. It gives the guitar a better, less "bright" look. The wood has a beautiful grain that shows through the finish which gives the surface added dimension. Also the detailing is amazing. A true piece of craftsmanship. It plays like a dream as well. There was not a SINGLE buzzy fret! The neck feels great and you barely need to touch the strings in order to get them to sound. The dual humbuckers have a powerful kick to them. WOW, I was really impressed by the sound. Great overdrive and good clean tones as well. The single/double coil push down knob is a real added bonus and you can really tell when you've kicked in the doubles! I haven't been this impressed with a guitar in a long time. I highly recommend it. Beautiful look, great sound, and a great bargain!
I have had this guitar for several years now after it was recommended to me at my local Guitar Center. I got the Black Cherry and at first it didn't appeal to me, but now I see it as beautiful. This is a well crafted guitar and I love the one-piece mahogany. I was told right off the bat that the electrics might be a little iffy just because its a "low end" guitar. And sure enough I did eventually have to replace the wires inside, but other than that its been great! And as long as you order from Guitar Center, they replace the wires for free. The 24 frets are easy to reach, and the action on it is amazing. The strings stay in tune extremely well and I am proud of how far this guitar has taken me. The little metal pieces that that are in the holes in the back for the strings fall out easily after a few months, so watch out. But a fantastic guitar! So for that I say thank you Guitar Center, and thank you Schecter for creating a great guitar. If anything ever happens to mine, be rest assured that I will be back for another!
I purchased this guitar at my local GC and got a pretty good deal for it too. I plugged it into my Orange CR35LDX and through my BOSS ME-25 and I can get amazing tones from this thing. The Duncan Design Humbuckers aren't Seymour Duncans, but they sure could pass for some. These pickups can scream like a devil or sing like an angle, so it's extremely versatile. The coil tap can get some nice clean sounding tones but it's difficult to get that nice ring that you get from a Tele or a Strat. It's an extremely comfortable guitar with a body cutaway so playing while sitting down isn't a problem. The Grover Tuners are amazing, I play this thing all the time and I rarely have to tune it, which is really surprising. I've had no technical problems from it in the six months I've owned it. Overall this guitar is WELL worth the money, and I haven't found a major downfall yet.
I picked it up and started playing it at my local GC and instantly knew I had to have it. The coil tap also adds insane versatility. This thing is a steal!!!
I just recently got this guitar at my Guitar Center, and at first i didn't know what to get..but i decided this was the best choice, and boy am i glad i made this decision! This guitar has great playability on the entire neck and the sound..oh the sound! it couldn't be any more perfect. great stock humbuckers and a price that fits any guitarists needs, beginner to intermediate. I love that its a solid body guitar, gives it really good sustain. Plus, the black cherry just looks amazing. if you are looking for a guitar that can play any type of music, this is the one for you!
I picked up this little beauty from my local GC and couldn't be more happy with it. Normally I prefer Fender Strats but I wanted the dual humbucker configuration. I did a lot of research before I test drove mine at GC. The looks are killer in black cherry. Playability is superb. I am an active Blues player and I like the growl of this baby just using my amp's overdrive channel. Bought it on a Thursday played it at a gig on Saturday. Nooooooo problems. The sound was smooth and warm but she would really bark out on the leads. Another of my band mates plays a Les Paul. I let him play my new C-1 and he said he had to give it back to me quick because he wanted one too. I was blown away by the incredible woodwork on the neck. This one plays like a $1000 guitar but costs much less. BTW- the sustain is to die for! OK. Enough gushing. I recommend this axe to anyone who wants a versatile and playable guitar that also turns the heads of other musicians. Blues on ya.
i am in a hardcore / screamo band and when i played this guitar i immediatly loved how it felt and sounded we do clean inserts in our songs and it sounds fantastic on that as well but it has a mean agressive distortion and i loved this guitar so much that i decided to go buy another schecter i just bought a schecter hellraiser and it is just as good acctually probably a little better but the c-1 standard in my opinion is the best guitar you can get for the price range
I bought this guitar a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. For all the extras you get, the C-1 standard is the way to go. I haven't even thought of up-grading anything on it. The tones are smoking clear on clean channels, and the distorted channels are clear and hot. The neck on the guitar is very fast and smooth. I like that the guitar is fairly light bodied so standing with it for a while is not cumbersome. When I walked into my guitar lessons with this guitar, my instructor immediately told me that this uitar is one of his favorites. The paint and polish on the guitar make it look like a million bucks. If you are looking for a great guitar at a smoking price, I would highly recommend you pick up this guitar and try it.
I picked up a C1 at the local GC store. Got a great deal with the 15% off trade in discount. Took it home, plugged into my Marshall JCM2000 half stack and couldn't believe the tone. This guitar produces a better, more defined distortion than my Les Paul Standard Plus. Tone is biting, clear and crisp, whereas the Les Paul is slightly muddy, and flabby sounding. The Duncan Designed pups are perfect for this guitar. It holds it's tune well, and the Dark Brown Sunburst looks fantastic. It's not light, but not as heavy as a solid Les Paul either. I then plugged into my Twin Reverb, and the clean tones rival my Strat, even using the double coil humbuckers. Neck is slim, fast and the frets are substantial, but not cumbersome. The coil splitting option gives it yet a third sound, unusual but in a good way. In my opinion, this is one of the better guitar values out there. This is alot of guitar for the money.
