I was originally looking at the warwick basses, but after looking at all of the features like the neck thru construction, 35" scale and quality electronics I decided to try one out. I played a fretted version at the local GC, and found that I also liked the neck radius more than the warwicks, it was nice and shallow, playing very quickly. It has a good tone, and I like the configuration of the eq. It's set up with a seperate knob for bass, mid and treble, has a PU balance knob, and master vol. The only downsides are that it is impossible to find in any other color than the honey satin in the fretless version. I actually like the color, it is much more brown, with a flat, natural finish than the pictures make it look. The only other thing to mention is that the 35" scale does limit your string choice a bit, but d'addario chromes super long scale are perfect. The tech support guy called on monday after leaving I left a message on friday afternoon, and he emailed me some pdfs of user manuals, and wiring diagrams. Best buy for a fretless 5 under a grand.
