  • simply excellent

As reviewed by will on 7/17/2009

i've played expensive fender basses, ibanez, and others, and so far this one comes out on top. i just bought it as an upgrade to my washburn lyon i got at the pawn shop and let me tell you, it was one heck of an upgrade. this sucker was rattling the walls of my room with my amp at 2! if you want raw power, without having to sacrifice control, this is for you. this thing can give the most gut-wrenching roar that i've ever heard! not to mention the excellent low-action neck witch gives me great control and comfort. dollar for dollar, (or compared to any $600+ bass) this thing holds its own in every way with more than enough to spare to make you gawk in amazement every time you play it.

This guitar has the best tone for its price. It is the best bass ive ever had and ever since it touched my hands it has been nothing but perfect. I would reccomend this bass to anyone who is looking for perfection.

  • Overall very good

As reviewed by Nick on 11/5/2010

I have this bass in the natural finish. It's a very striking instrument to look at, which is one of the things that attracted me too it. I was just about to sell it when I discovered that the treble control is adjustable, so you can select which frequency it affects. At the default setting (on my bass), the bass was mostly just smooth and good for smooth, acoustic music. I wanted more growl for rock--adjusting it to the lowest frequency allows you to add growl, though you have to crank the knob up. I didn't even know it had the option to do that until two years after I bought it... So give it a chance! Strings seem to hang a little loose on lower tunings, which is why I can't give it a 5. Otherwise, I like everything about it. Very flexible stylistically and well put-together. The satin finish is a little too easy to scratch, though.
