So I ordered this a few days ago and just got it today! I took it out of the box brand new and man was I amazed. I ordered the Red C-1 and man the pictures dont do any justice to this thing! It's got a deep red color and it sparkles and shimmers in the light!! So I plugged it into my Acoustic G20 Leadseries and man does this Guitar scream. IT has great Action right out of the box! I didnt have to change the strings or anything, it was all perfect!! I played it for over and hour and am just simply in love with it! I will more than likely purchase the SGR c-7 later this year! Get this guitar! Dont let the price fool you!! Its a low price and amazing Quality!!
This axe is great. Even in their budget line of guitars, Schecter still manages to create solid and quality instruments. While a tad heavy, the body is very sturdy and the neck is strong. Tuners work great, and the fretboard is smooth and fast. My only complaint is that the pickups don't have as much bite as I'd like them to. Though the cleans sound great, I'll probably just replace the pups altogether and swap 'em with a Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion set. Overall, you won't find a better quality guitar for the price.
I bought this guitar for my 10 year old son, and myself. We have only had it a little over a month. I am normally a bass player, so am used to heavy strings and large necks. After getting the instrument, I did go through setting the truss rod, string height, and intonation(Low E just can't seem to get right, it's sharp and adjused all the way back on bridge). I have found the action on this guitar to be very easy and smooth. My son has no difficulty playing basic chords and runs. It does have to be tuned on a regular basis, but that could be because of the way he plays with it. I have not changed the strings out from the factory strings, but have some Ernie Ball Slinkys to put on it when ready. Materials seem to be very good, especially considering the price. Very good looking guitar. For the price, I think this is a very good buy for a beginner.
