Killer Guitar
The omen 6 is the most recent guitar i've purchased and it'll most likely be the last. Right out of the box, it has a killer tone, great note clarity and excellent sustain. It has a great feel comparable to a PRS or Gibson guitar, very solid but not too heavy. I've run this guitar through a mountain of fx and it shines through better than any stock guitar in my arsenal. For the price of this guitar, you really can't be it, the closest being purchasing a cheaper guitar and then having to shell out for better pickups, which come standard on the omen 6. I can't imagine a feature or option other than slight cosmetic issues that i'd ever change on this beast.

Reliable, Nice- Sounding Omen
This guitar makes both a great beginner and intermediate guitar. For $300, you get the very professional look of a nicer guitar and decent tone from the Diamond Humbucker pickups. Be warned that it is actually much smaller than it looks in the pictures, but is great in terms of sound and quality.
After having mine for about a year, it hasn't chipped or scratched in any spots, although the high gloss finish (blue and black only) makes it difficult to keep free of fingerprints and smudges. In terms of sound, this is a surprisingly versatile guitar that can produce fitting tones for metal, light rock, jazz or whatever. It sounds very similar to a nicer Ibanez guitar at half the price because it is warm and very full-bodied sounding. I have plugged it into a Line 6 Spider, a Crate, and even my Dad's Acoustic Crate. All of these amps gave me the same warm tone, whether on the clean channel or with distortion. It also sounds great with the Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal.
As far as playability goes, I really had an easy time moving up and down the fret board, but the higher frets don't seem to produce as nice of a sound as the lower ones do. Accordingly, this guitar is best for low end stuff, but at higher ranges, it gets a little thin sounding. But for $300 dollars, it is well worth the money, because not only does it look like a professional guitar with the beveled edges and the string-through body, but it sounds and plays very decently.

Great Starter Guitar....
This an EXCELLENT guitar for the money, that plays well with any music style. The pickups may be the weakest part of the package(and the most common modification), but they are smooth and clear with or without distortion. My Omen 6 doesn't have any fret buzz problems, and I have my action fast and low, but every guitar is different. Test yours out before you buy it( or have a friend play it). And change the strings when you get it, the GHS applied strings suck. Try some Super Slinky's!!!
If your thinking about picking up guitar don't get the cheap Squier starter packs. Spend a little more for this guitar and own something of far better quality, that will keep you happier longer, and with a pickup change, will become a flamethrower!!!

So much for expensive guitars.
Who needs an expensive guitar when you've got the Schecter Omen 6. I can't describe to you how great it is. You have to play one for yourself. It does everything a pricey guitar will do, and if you ask me... Much, much more. So put down the cup-o-noodles, and buy yourself a worthy dinner, and while you're at it, this worthy guitar. Guaranteed you won't be disappointed.

Change up by Schecter
I mainly wanted to post an FYI about the Omen 6 and I'm sure regarding the Schecter's in general now.
Apparently Schecter has relocated the manufacturing site from South Korea to China. My Omen 6 which is beautiful was made in China and that might explain some differences with other Omen's. My walnut satin color is not as deep a red as the others I have been looking at. Mine is lighter and shows off the grain more. Also, mine has nickel hardware and GROVER tuners vs. the diamond tuners it is supposed to have.
It still is a beauty and I'm having fun playing it. As long as it has been inspected and setup here in the states by Schecter, as mine has, I'm confident in the change.

Great live guitar
This guitar has great tone. Flip the pickup selector to the bridge and you can get a nice aggressive sound out of it, even with siple overdrive! If you select the neck you get an awesome clean sound. In my opinion it has a little jazz/blues sound on that pickup. This does have a little too much pickup noise and fret noise for recording but live it is awesome!

simply amazing....
I played this guitar one day at a pond shop, and I was AMAZED! The pickups have a good crunchy tone to them, and they don't buzz. This is a great guitar for a great price. Buy it!!!

The ultimate entry-level electric
I've been playing electric for 6 years now, and have gone through a few guitars (Squier Bullet, older Omen 6, Mexican Strat, Ibanez RG321)... I picked up this beauty in Guitar Center two days ago, held it in my arms, strummed it unplugged (to listen for buzzing), eyeballed the neck, and took it straight to the cash register. I'm in love! The model I got is flawless, unlike the Omen 6 I bought six years ago, which never sounded good on the sixth string. This thing came with a perfect setup, smooth frets with no buzzing, dead-on intonation on every string at every fret... I am truly in awe.
Anyone recommending a first electric guitar for a player should recommend this one. It is good for blues as well as metal, and as the other reviews attest, if you outgrow the sound you can swap out the pups for EMG's. Buy a 10-pack of D'Addario EXL110's for it... mine came with them, as attested by the tag on its neck, so Schechter has wised up about their factory strings.
This is the most comfortable, well-balanced electric guitar, better than the older Omen 6 models, and the neck is slim and smooth. The gloss black finish is gorgeous, just keep a cloth handy for wiping it off.
Obviously, you shouldn't buy a guitar without checking for fret buzz, which is the best reason to get it at Guitar Center instead of online. The low action is another reason this is such a great guitar for beginners. You can play all day without hurting your fingers.

awesome sound
this guitar is the greatest guitar i own out of all 6 of em. it gives hardcore tone when i use it through a line 6 spyder 2 and turn all my distortion pedals on and drive all the way up but with all of my guitars and most guitars i've played it sounds like overdriven overdistorted crap on steroids but this guitar handles it all and gives good tone. the action is great and it amazing for soloing. i love this axe can't stop playing it. (and if your going to buy it then buy the black diamond series one it has the best tone)
