  • Excellent Guitar!!!

As reviewed by Colten Bearhart on 12/4/2009

I've had my Omen 6 for about 2 months and I've had a lot of fun playing it, it's such a versatile guitar for a lower priced guitar! It sounds great and stays in tune, even after an hour of playing it in drop c tuning it stayed in tune quite well. the sustain is excellent, it's not really heavy like some solid body guitars are, it's very comfortable to hold and play, has 24 frets that are easily accessible. so all-in-all this is a great guitar for any level of playing, and a very affordable guitar.

  • Nothing but awsome

As reviewed by Chris on 7/1/2010

I love this guitar. I play in my church and when im jamming out with my friends. it gets great tone. Plus it is built to last. i have droped it at least 5 times and it never got any damage. I had it for a while which is why i dropped it so much. but its my favorite guitar. i have 5 guitars. nothing can replace it. the pick ups are great. i still have the original pickups in it. i can play anything with it. definitly worth every penny

  • The ultimate entry-level electric

As reviewed by Crowell Studios on 8/23/2007

I've been playing electric for 6 years now, and have gone through a few guitars (Squier Bullet, older Omen 6, Mexican Strat, Ibanez RG321)... I picked up this beauty in Guitar Center two days ago, held it in my arms, strummed it unplugged (to listen for buzzing), eyeballed the neck, and took it straight to the cash register. I'm in love! The model I got is flawless, unlike the Omen 6 I bought six years ago, which never sounded good on the sixth string. This thing came with a perfect setup, smooth frets with no buzzing, dead-on intonation on every string at every fret... I am truly in awe. Anyone recommending a first electric guitar for a player should recommend this one. It is good for blues as well as metal, and as the other reviews attest, if you outgrow the sound you can swap out the pups for EMG's. Buy a 10-pack of D'Addario EXL110's for it... mine came with them, as attested by the tag on its neck, so Schechter has wised up about their factory strings. This is the most comfortable, well-balanced electric guitar, better than the older Omen 6 models, and the neck is slim and smooth. The gloss black finish is gorgeous, just keep a cloth handy for wiping it off. Obviously, you shouldn't buy a guitar without checking for fret buzz, which is the best reason to get it at Guitar Center instead of online. The low action is another reason this is such a great guitar for beginners. You can play all day without hurting your fingers.
