  • Nice

As reviewed by Chris on 6/13/2010

I played this guitar at the local guitar center not too far from where i live after a store clerk asked if i wanted to try it out. At first sight it looked very nice, and it was, great parts(EMG pickups, Grover tuners, tonepros bridge), good playability, and a good sound. The only problem i had with it was that the sound was cliche, as in i really felt like i could have picked up any other guitar with EMG's and it would sound either the same or better. Its nice, but the sound doesn't have much depth or originality. The playability however was great, the body cutaway was unnecessary(made it feel a bit awkward) but the extra-jumbo 24 fret rosewood fretboard was a nice addition. With that fretboard soloing was easy and enjoyable. So overall its good, if your just looking for a shred guitar you have found a good axe, but for those looking for a guitar that you can grow with, i would keep searching. Best of luck to all of you great players of the divine art-Chris

  • Metal to the Max

As reviewed by HAC on 5/14/2010

I went to Guitar Center looking for a new guitar that was metal oriented. I tried out a lot of other guitars, but this was the one. From the moment I picked up this guitar I could tell it was very high class. I hooked it up to Line 6 amp and it played like a monster. I couldn't put the guitar down. I played the baddest and heaviest riffs I knew and it was just amazing. I recomend this guitar to anybody!

  • This is a wonderful guitar for the metal musician

As reviewed by Zachary Goodman on 5/27/2010

I was compelled to try one of these out when I learned that Gary Holt of Exodus began playing these. He even plays the same models that anyone can walk into a store and buy. This guitar has a set neck, but it is designed to offer great upper fret access. It's a very solid feeling instrument. It has active EMG 81 (bridge) and 85 (neck) pickups, which are standard for many of the professional metal musicians. This gives the instrument a very full and meaty sound, and it sounds great for both rhythm and lead playing. The neck, being a Schecter, is fairly thick, but it is still comfortably, and once you learn how to hold it, it shouldn't compromise your playing. The action is nice and low, and fast playing in no problem with this guitar. Even though it's a V, it isn't difficult to play while sitting down. All you have to do is rest the guitar on your left leg (for right handed players) and place your left leg between the guitar's wings. I play like this every day, and it's extremely comfortable. This is a solid guitar which will hold up for a long time. It sounds like a quality metal guitar, and I recommend it.
