Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser C-8 FR 8-String Electric Guitar (H86405)
Availability:

A 8-string guitar with drop dead looks, EMG Active pickups, and Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo.

The 8-string Schecter Hellraiser C-8 FR 8-String Electric Guitar has a gorgeous quilted maple top, a double cutaway mahogany body, 3-piece set mahogany neck, and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. The Hellraiser C-8 has a long 28" scale length to accommodate the lower tuning of the added F# and B strings. The guitar's Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo bridge permits dive-bombing without fear of going out of tune.

Schecter loads the 8-string Hellraiser guitar with a pair of EMG-808 active humbucker pickups featuring Alnico V loaded wide aperture coils that beef tones from the Low strings while providing a more responsive, super tight overall sound. The extended scale C-8 is reinforced with dual graphite rods for tuning and neck stability. Appointments include gothic cross inlays, abalone body binding, and black chrome hardware.

As reviewed by stevy on 12/15/2014

The first thing you noticed is how well packaged this guitar comes. It comes inside of 3 padded touch cardboard boxes, the final box the guitar is snide of has foam padding in each corner of the guitar shape and the neck has a foam paddin on the box as well, the guitar is also wrapped in foam sheeting to protect its finish. Already you see it's shipped with care and prestige. Once you open the box you immediately notice it's looks and feel it's quality in your hands, it has valuable weight to its body, you feel it's worth it's weight, you feel the extremely high quality of the guitar and the looks and finish is so well crafted and finished. Not a single flaw on this masterpiece of a work of art. In other words it feel very expensive in your hands and looks so in your eyes. The inlays are so perfectly done the hardware, body and neck is without question most accurate. The guitar comes ready to play, intonation is perfectly set, tuning is nearest to well tuned as you'd expect from a guitar that was delivered after being tuned and inspected. As far as the sound goes, well it doesn't disappoint one bit there. It is very clean sounding has the best quality Ernie ball strings you could buy, not d'addario as written in some overviews. These strings sound so clean and great. The pickups are so detailed In sound anywhere from clean to highly overdriven, punchy, super tight sound, little effort to get a great sound out of this guitar. It can do anything you want has sweet harmonic tone in both clean and overdriven modes from neck to bridge pickups. Neck sounds really sweet and mellow if you wish to set it like that or husky and tight, has its own volume control separate from the bridge pickup so you can easily alrernate the tone and volume of the guitar. Very easy to manipulate the sound of the guitar instantly because of this feature. The maple and mahogany body is perfect marriage of two musical and harmonic woods for any style of music giving the guitar even more value and sweetness. It's Floydrose system is so great and keeps such precise tuning even after much use and many days, I've only had to fine tune it a hand full of times since I bought it and it's been 15 days of rocking it. The hardware looks so perfect for it too with its black chrome style. The neck is thin enough for great comfort, the neck is also very wide, so not for those who have small hands. But the thin neck is great enought to make it really comfortable if your hands are not very small. Besides having too thin a neck would reduce tone and string vibration integrity in the most crucial parts like the neck. Overall I feel the guitar is well worth more than the asking price and even the listing price. I've played artist series guitars in the past like the Steve Vai guitars etc, but none feel or sound this high in quality for sure. I picked up an expensive Ibanez I have after playing the Schecter C-8 and the ibanez felt sorry to say so cheap and sounded so dull next to the Schecter C-8 active pickups and I'll its sound improving tonal qualities. Trust me this is my true review.
