Schecter Guitar Research Diamond-P Custom Electric Bass Guitar (584544)
Availability:

The new choice for touring and recording professional bassists.

The Schecter Diamond-P Custom Electric Bass is perfect for classic tones to aggressive modern sounds. Armed with a Schecter custom Super Rock humbucker pickup at the bridge and a Monster Tone II pickup in the neck position you'll have full control over tonal approaches. Coil-splitting the Super Rock pickup extends the range of the Diamond-P custom bass into vintage revisits.

Road tested and reliable Grover Vintage Tuners hold the strings over the Schecter custom Top Load/String Thru high mass bridge—which allows for tensioned dropped tunings many metal players use. The Diamond-P bass' 34"-scale maple neck boasts 21 frets on the rosewood fingerboard, and an alder body that make the Schecter Diamond-P Custom the right bass for the best price.

Case sold separately.

  • Extremely fun and easy to play.

Hey, my mom bought me a diamond for my birthday. I have been playing it for about 3 months now. I am an intermediate player. I started with a squire (fender) and also played two other off-brand basses. I practice and play every week now with the diamond. The color in the picture (the blue) looks much better in person. Each pickup has its own volume control (top two knobs) and the bottom knob pulls up to use the coil-splitting feature (which I dont use too much) and that just slightly changes the tone. Turning the knob allows you to fine tune the guitar to your play style, which really helps with playing slap bass. I use it 99% of the time playing in church (contemporary to christian rock) and the rest of the time playing harder rock at my house (songs by Thrice, Blindside, etc.). The strings are very close and require very little effort to push. It seems to hold its tuning for 3 to 4 weeks (approx. 5 to 6 hours of playing). It plays great with fingers, picks, or slapping. The only thing it really needs is a fifth string.

This is an almost-perfect bass. If you want something like an Epiphone Thunderbird + Fender Jazz, here it is. It has an dark punk tone, good for post-punk, hardcore punk, heavy metal, and also Noise rock. To me it's very good bass, good for plucking. Very stright foward bass with a "Indepent" tone. I would recommend this to an beginner and even a professional. :)
