Schecter Guitar Research Damien 5 String Bass Guitar (104489968)

Made with hard rock in mind.

The Damien 5-String Bass was built for bands that love to rock hard. The list of artists and songs on Schecter Guitars' home page leans towards the heavier side of things. Acts like Misfits, Sean Yseult of White Zombie, Avenged Sevenfold, Papa Roach, Tommy Lee and Seether are but a sampling of Schecter's guitar and bass users.

Aesthetically, this 5-string electric bass has an arched basswood body with a lower cutaway, with a black satin finish, black hardware, a dark rosewood fingerboard with black pearl flying bat inlays. The Damien Bass is definitely not geared toward your bubblegum pop band. 24 jumbo frets, two EMG HZ series humbuckers and 4 control knobs for volume, blend, and active 2-band EQ with selectable treble frequencies give you the playability, sonics, and electronics to shred with the best of them.

If you like it "none more black," the Damien 5-string should be the bass in your hands next time you take the stage for a fist-pumping showdown.

  • Killer Bottom End

As reviewed by Bottomfeeder on 10/27/2008

Wow! I have owned and played a lot of basses that cost way more, but none play as well or as easily as this one. The action is super tight and low and the EMG's are so hot that you could probably play this thing just fretting alone. Color and finsh is awesome and the weight is excellent. Holds drop tuning very well. You won't find a better bass for even twice the money.

  • It's beautiful on the inside too

As reviewed by Ryan on 12/7/2009

I love this bass. The EMG pickups are great, you can get some pretty awesome tones with them. It's a really fast playing neck and nice low action. I think it sounds better for dropped tuning though. When I eventually got a new bass I set this one up for drop C tuning because when you tune down that low with the already low action it's going to rattle a lot. Now I only play dropped tunings on this one. Like the description says, it's made for hard rock. If you play metal, this is a fantastic bass. If you play smooth jazz, eh, you might want to go with something else.

  • Simply amazing

As reviewed by Kellam on 8/11/2010

I bought this bass because i was in a rush I was in a band and I needed a new one because my squire broke I had my eyes set on an sr605 but decided to go with this one because I really needed the bass and I'm glad that I did this bass has everything that you need with the active electronics and the to band eq you are ready to go I've had this bass for about a year or so now and it continues to suprise me also it has stuning looks which really sold it to me the only problem is that the finish is slowly getting rubbed off where I rest my arm and is slightly uncumfortable but other than that no problems at all. If you have a brain at all go and buy this guitar you will not be dissapointed
