A retro-modern axe with custom touches and smooth playability.

The Corsair Bigsby is Schecter's take on the classic semi-hollowbody electric guitar and a neo-vintage six-string that rules for rock. Its three-piece mahogany neck is shaped to deliver comfortable, effortless play with an ebony fingerboard and 22 medium-jumbo frets. The semi-hollow maple body is topped with flamed maple and fixed with two Duncan Designed humbuckers (with coil-splitting) that whisper and wail with plenty of firepower. The Bigsby B-70 vibrato gives you extra expression while rock-solid Gotoh tuners keep you in tune.

  • Outstanding value...

As reviewed by Ron Milligan on 11/2/2010

I bought this guitar online (walnut finish), sight unseen because it wasn't stocked in the local GC. I was not disappointed, if anything it is even better than I expected. The fit and finish is top shelf, the setup is near perfect and it plays and sounds great. If this guitar was made in the USA it would probably cost $2-3 grand. GC didn't have the Schecter case so I bought a SKB made for the 335 and it works perfectly. I can't attest to it's reliability because I've only had it for a couple of weeks but everything is tight, the switches and knobs all seem to be high quality. If you are looking for a 335 style guitar I don't think you can do much better. Highly recommended. On a side note I have to give GC's online service two thumbs up, I ordered this on a Tuesday evening and received it the following Thursday morning.

  • Great Semi-Hollow tone with terrific playability and price

As reviewed by Terry on 5/9/2011

Ordered it from local GC store, gloss walnut finish with Bigsby. Very impressed seeing it out of the box. Almost afraid to play it because it looked so good. I will be upset at the first scratch that occurs (not if I can help it though!). Plays like butter and the tones coming out of it are very chimey cleans to creamy or crunchy distortion, whichever you dial in. Does not work as well with serious gain, at not least in my setup (Radial Tonebone Trimode Distortion), but there may be other distortion pedals out there to work well with the Corsair for heavy gain. Definitely easy to dial in the rockabilly sound, killer blues tones, good old rock distortions, nice clean tones, and more modern sounds. Haven't put the Bigsby through its paces, but it seems to hold tune reasonably well. Was not really thrilled with a roller style, but love the look of it and do not see any downside to its performance so far. Practiced with my band with this the other day and got compliments all around from the sounds and its appearance. If it were lost or stolen, I would have to get the same thing.

  • Stellar.

As reviewed by Matthew W. on 4/2/2011

This is a magnificent guitar. I am thinking about selling the rest of my guitars because of it. I can get any sound that I would ever want out of this thing. I have played the ES335 before and I truly believe this guitar stands up to it. Plus, it's gorgeous (I have the walnut). If you want an absolutely stellar semi-hollow but don't want to spend a couple thousand on it, I can't emphasize how much I recommend this.
