A set neck and active EMG pickups make this Floyd Rose-equipped axe a bargain.

The Schecter C-1 FR Platinum Electric Guitar takes everything guitar players love about the popular C-1, and adds a Floyd Rose Special locking tremolo system. It boasts a double cutaway mahogany body, 25.5" scale set maple neck, and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. A Schecter Ultra Access neck joint lets you reach the entire fretboard with ease and comfort. It's loaded with a pair of EMG Active 81/85 pickups for an incredible range of tones. And the Floyd Rose Special allows for the most extreme whammy effects, while keeping your guitar perfectly in tune. Appointments include dot fingerboard inlays, fretboard and body binding, and satin chrome hardware.

Grover tuners
The original Rotomatic® with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination

Rosewood fingerboard
The most common fretboard, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.

EMG Active 81/85 pickups
One of the most popular EMG’s the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can only be described as blistering. Recommended pairings include the classic 81/85 setup.

Three-piece maple neck
Three-piece necks can withstand the test of time and are designed to give you extra stability. Where standard necks may show aging defects from temperature and moisture changes throughout the years, the three-piece neck will stay nice and straight for a lifetime of playability.

  • Amazing Quality

As reviewed by Jennifer de Mil on 12/11/2013

This is my my third guitar and I must say that it is the best one! The neck is really smooth and comfortable. I'm really satisfied with the great sustain in its sound too! The sound is great for playing metal and it feels just right for moving all around the fingerboard. All together I'd say it's a really nice guitar, you can tell immediately how great the quality is. So if you're looking for something good to shred, this is a good guitar to look into!

  • Holy Smokes !!!

This guitar kicks ass !! what the hell did these guys do to get that honk & sustain ?? I can't set this thing down !! I have 8 brand name guitars in my arsenal....I was looking to upgrade my tele & heard this guy banging out a lick or two on the "Schecter" I asked the guy how it felt & he handed me the guitar ? the rest is history... I'm like taking this one apart to see what they did & so far I think the body wood is aged or something like that ? the bridge is hand carved & set in like a glove.....I called a "Mahogany" dealer who told me that the wood is not cheap & is hard to get & work with. He also said that most guitar company's will not buy mahogany unless it is a custom order..& those orders are most likely Rock Stars that can put up the bucks.. I told him what I payed for my Schecter & he said the wood alone was worth the price.. as you can't always find this wood in bulk.

  • C-1 FR Platinum

As reviewed by Sam on 6/22/2015

Great guitar. The neck feels and plays great and stays stable through temperature changes. Very hot pickups, as you should expect from EMG. Beautiful finish, top, and binding. This guitar could stand up against guitars worth 700-850$ and hold its own. The set-thru neck joint style thing that Schecter does is phenomenal. You get that neck-thru feel at a set-neck price. I got mine for 500$ and have had it for about 3 months now and I have no regrets at all. For any rock/metal player looking for a Floyd Rose style guitar that sounds like a beast, this should definately be considered. If this is your first Floyd-loaded guitar, however, make sure you know what you are getting into. Re-stringing and setup becomes difficult and cumbersome when using a Floyd, and if you happen to break a string on stage, well.... But thats a price you have to pay for being able to do things like dime-squeals and dive bombs while holding perfect tuning. Once you've set this guitar up and tuned it to pitch, you very rarely have to make any adjustments. 5/5. Great buy.
