  I have played this guitar several times at the local Guitarcenter, and it is Awsome! It has a Great tone through any amp, The pickups arent great, but you can always change those, or make em work. The set-neck feels great, im used to Bolt-on and Neck-through but i could transition smoothly. The mahogan body has a good solid feel and tone to it. It also holds tune pretty well to (Keep in mind ive been playing one at guitar center that is played alot). The one I've been playing is the Vintage White, it is more of the "Off-White" or "Aged-White" color, not the "Snow White" Color this picture looks like. The neck is also Slick, and smoothe, but you can feel the mass of guitar you are holding. The only thing i dont like about is just me, im used to 3 guitars, ESP/LTD KH 202, Ibanez RG7321, and BC RICH WARLOCK, so those are ALL 25.5" scale, this is a 24.75" so it just feels a little short to me. But like I said thats just me. Awsome as always Schecter, keep it up.

  This might be long: I just got this in the mail a few weeks ago and I haven't been able to put it down. I can't believe what a great little guitar this. Got the gold top on a whim, over the white top I really wanted and I'm glad I did. This thing is beautiful. In all the pictures the back looks black and in some light it does, but it's actualy red tint in the clearcoat, so it's pretty dark, but you can still see the wood grain(again, in the right light). Playability: The best playing guitar I've ever touched, hands down. Busted out some tools, when it first showed up, to do a little setup and I simply couldn't. The action is so low I don't even understand. The setup is spot on and there isn't a thing you could do to make it play better. Maybe I should send these guys my LP studio, which brings me to the neck. I have big hands and the slim taper neck feels great and plays fast, makes the Studio neck feel like a 2x4. The body shape makes it comfy to play sitting or standing. Fit and finish: Looks great, but when I look real close I can find some very small flaws in the gold flake. And the masking line gold/binding is less than perfect. On the back I can see a dip, the whole length where the two piece body is joined (if I hold it angled enough to see a reflection across it). These things are not a huge deal, the clearcoat is good, and it's certainly reflected in the price. The hardware however, is great. The tonepros tailpiece and bridge are locking which is, a) mentioned nowhere in the description, b) awesome for changing strings. Grover tuners are good enough for Gibson...... Sound: First off, I don't think I'll be changing these p'ups. The guitar is mohagany(period), but it's a light mohagany and doesn't have the sustain or darkness of say an Epiphone LP(which is what I replaced with this). It's a little brighter and warmer(i.e. resonant) and sounds much better to my ears. Not tryin to say this guitar doesn't have good sustain, it does, just not as much as a denser guitar. My fear would be that a hotter p'up might sound thin on this guitar. What would sound great is an underwound single coil... oh wait, COIL TAP!!! And it does sound great, especialy clean with some verb, very crisp and twangy(some might say), but not like a Tele. Overall a pretty rich sound leaning towards dark that seems to work well from metal > rock > blues. Bottom line? Decent guitar. For the money? Amazing guitar. Would I buy it again? No, I'd buy the Tempest Custom, but I won't be parting with this one anytime soon.

  This guitar gives you the best quality you can find for the price. It is sturdy, reliable, plays and looks great. Feels great to hold and play, neck has a great, fast feel to it that makes playing awesome. Also packs a lot of tone and power, great for any level player, I definitely recommend it.
