Get More Than You Paid For...
All in all, this guitar is amazing!!!
Feature-wise, it packs everything you need for rock or metal playing. Its best aspects are the 2 EMG pickups and the thin super fast neck with 24 jumbo frets (and the cool original bat inlays that make it stand out). The only thing that it is missing is a Floyd Rose tremelo, which is available on the Damien 6 FR. If you don't use a tremelo a lot, you would actually be glad that it doesn't have a Floyd Rose because the Floyd Rose bridge can get in the way if you're not used to it (and it is prone to problems that arise sooner than expected). The through-body stringing system makes it extremely easy to change strings or to change tunings (versus the Floyd Rose system which can be a huge pain). Also, the guitar will hold its tuning for quite a long time. In terms of knobs and switches, it has basic tone and volume knobs and a 3-way swtich. In 9 years of playing guitar, I never felt the need for additional tone and volume knobs. The tone you get is largely affected by your Amp and/or effects pedal, so the controls on the Damien 6 are enough.
In terms of looks, I personally think it is one of the best looking guitars out there (in this price range). The black finish is not a glossy one, which is something to rejoice for because you don't run into the problem of visible persistent fingerprints on a glossy surface. As for the unique bat inlays on the fretboard, it depends on whether you like them or not. I personally think they look really good, and in reality they look better than in the pictures.
As for the sound, I think it has a unique warm tone to it, and a great ability to vary it from a deep tone to a bright one (considering it is equiped with EMGs). It probably will not be the best tone for blues as it has a deeper character to it. But again, if you have a versatile Amp and/or effects pedal, you can really mimick any tone you want with this guitar. The Damien 6 really shines in rock and metal distortion (not that it is bad in clean mode, it is actually excellent). Pinch harmonics are so easy to achieve on the Damien 6, and they deliver an amazing screech!
As for the setup, mine was very well put together, it was ready to be played. The action was low and produced no buzz on any of the frets. Some players may want to lower it even more (I thought it was very good), in any case it is very easy to do so given the simple bridge system. You'd probably want to change the strings that it is shipped with, since they are not the best out there.
As for durability, the Damien 6 holds its ground. Its finish may not be as durable as other guitars' given its unique non-glossy paint finish which is more prone to scratches that can't be polished out (though I'm not sure because I haven't scratched mine yet). But, if you're a person who takes good care of his/her guitar, it should not be a problem. It feels very solid, the strap bolts seem and feel well rooted.
In terms of comfort, the Damien 6 is very comfortable playing while sitting and standing. It is not that heavy, but not as light as the super thin Ibanez S-series guitars. I personally haven't felt it to be heavey on my shoulder or on my lap. As for the neck, it is very thin (but strong) which allows for comfortable fast playing/shredding (equivalent to the Wizard II type necks on the new Ibanez guitars).
In terms of value, I am sure that there is no guitar out there that packs all these features for this price. The EMG pickups are awesome! You will not find any guitar in this price range packed with EMGs and 24 jumbo frets. Add to that its killer looks!
I never buy anything before I thoroughly research it and its alternatives. I spent 1 month checking everything on all guitars I could find, and the Damien 6 out-did all of the guitars in its price range and a lot of the guitars on the higher end too! I am a person who values versatility in a guitar, and I believe the Damien 6 is versatile enough in what it has to offer. It also puts together comfort, quality, and great looks!
You will not regret buying this guitar, but rather you will regret not having bought it earlier!

They priced this guitar much too low.
I loved this guitar, I tried it out for hours at a Guitar Center store. It was a mighty guitar, the feel and handling of a guitar that would be 3 times as much. This guitar has strong durablility but it's a beautiful guitar. The sound is amazing it can be transformed from anything like shredding metal to a soft sound. This a top quality guitar that is worth 3 times the amount it is now. All in all this is a must buy excellent guitar.

REALLY GREAT FOR SUCH AN AFFORDABLE PRICE
i was looking for a guitar that plays good and isn't hard on the budget. surpisingly, i got just what i wanted. the schecter damien 6 was all i needed, although i was aiming for the FR. the tone is great for real crunchy tones and for clean ones too. i use it a lot on metal and hard rock but i don't see a problem when using it for cleaner sounds like jazz and blues. i think the only problem with it is it's a bit heavy, compared to some of the guitars i own.
all in all...it's really worth every penny. perhaps it's a bit under-priced. this should be more expensive then it is.

this guitar is the best thing since Gibson guitars! It's perfect for rock, but my favorite thing is when you turn on clean,use the fret pickups, and pull on the tone knob.That activates the clean-machine pickups.B-E-A-U-tiful sound and quality.4 years of playing and this is perfect for a beginner or a pro.BUY IT AND YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED!!

Schecter Damien
I bought this guitar, and wow was I amazed! The EMG's are perfect for a low-toned metal sound, and I can make it squeel with ease. The Schecter Damien stays in tune amazingly well too. The jumbo frets are perfect for solos, and the action is perfect. Buy this guitar!
