Awesome!

This guitar is very versatile...despite what many of you may think...I sat down at West Music the other day and played one of these for about an hour. You can get a great clean tone out the the neck pickup...and great distortion out of the bridge pickup. I played music...anywhere from rock, metal, blues, classical, shred, and mexican. And I could find a great tone to go along with each style. Also when i sat down to practice scales with the clean setting on the amp...I got a very clean and precise sound. Very good cleans with the neck pickup...thats all i gotta say. The only downside to this guitar is that after like 100+ hours of playing...you have to replace the battery for the EMG's. (which is no big deal...all you have to do is pop the cover on the back and pop a new 9 volt battery in the slot) awesome guitar overall.

Value

I agree that this guitar has incredible "metal" appeal...but as an alternative guitarist, I would say that this guitar does GREAT! I own only the best equipment, because I don't have a life. Therefore I really have played some of the best guitars on earth. From PRS to Hand-Built beauties. Don't get me wrong, the "hellraiser" is not a PRS. But for $800 you cannot get a better made, equipped or beautiful axe. I would honestly say that I beat this babe up more than any of my guitars...prol cuz I don't care if I break it, they're available EVERYWHERE!!! PROS: CNC made, so it's perfect. Not handmade or setup by a luthier, but not bad for a quality live axe. Great electronics, decent tuners and trem. Looks beautiful, feels like a custom should. CONS: Little heavy for the size, but so what - heavy means more TONE. Little gritty, hence the "metal" description. Not gonna satisfy your ears if you're into warm bluesy tone (your fender strats), or smoothe creaminess (like a soapbar gibson). WHO IS THIS GUITAR FOR: Rockers, soloists, road-heavy guitarists. NOT FOR: Purists (old schoolers), big full clean toners (335 or hollow-body).

Amazing guitar... no other words to say it.

For the longest time. I've been a Gibson/Epiphone Les Paul guy. I almost refused to play anything other than those. The meat they provide and the crunch. I have an Les Paul with EMG 81/85 and I love it. Then I picked up this guitar... the Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR, and the tone and playability just railed me. I love this guitar. It has the same basic build of a Les Paul (mahogany body with a maple top/mahogony neck with a rosewood fingerboard). It also has my favorite pickups, EMG's. But the playability is amazing. The jumbo frets are awesome. I like that it is set up with 2 volume, 1 tone pots as well. I never really cared much for having two tone pots, just something else to get in the way. The Original Floyd Rose tremolo gives you even more playability and can help players be more creative, something almost no Les Paul has stock. I highly, hightly recommend this guitar to any guitar player. It is well worth the money, which is very cheap compared to other guitars with the same features and build that can cost up to 2-3 grand. This is without a doubt, an amazing guitar.

FO SHO!!!

this guitar is absolutely amazing! the EMG 81/85 combo is awesome for this guitar. i play a epiphone g-400 sg and when i go to guitarcenter i mostly just play the gibson les paul studio. which is a great guitar but i saw this and thought i would try it.. this guitar made the les paul look ridiculously priced and just not good. this guitars pickups literally grab each note and pump them out with a crisp sound. i play metal and all i can say is that i would buy this guitar! this is for sure my next guitar. they floyd rose tremelo is awesome! although i got a little confused on how to tune it because im so used to not having floyd rose. i highly reccommend this guitar to anyone that is a metal player.
