These are my favorite. They clamp on, and stay on. That's it. End of story. You won't have to worry about your investment smashing into the ground. The hardware is top grade, it IS Schaller afterall... The screw for Schaller goes in to most guitars easily, and you don't have to drill anything, or worry about cracking the body. Rickenbacker uses Schallers STOCK, so it's pretty obvious they're doing it right. Anyways, if you want something that simply works perfectly, then get these. The knockoffs have a reputation for failing. Schallers are the true deal.

I had their strap locks installed on my Fender Marcus Miller Jazz Bass , it dropped the bass twice in 2 months !!! The design is the worst , it turns & the open part points down & its only a matter of time before it drops to the ground . Mine dropped twice in 2 months !! I wrote Schaller a email on their website & they never responded to my email . I am now using DUNLOP STRAP LOCKS CAUSE THEY ARE THE BEST !!!!!! Thanks to Schaller my Fender Bass no longer plays the same or looks the same . In my professional opinion do not buy or use Schaller products , they don't stand behind it . Worth the money

By Tyler

from Hartford, SD

I just bought these strap locks a few days ago, so far they are FANTASTIC! They took about ten minutes to install. The quality is superb, I've been looking for some strap locks, and everyone told me to get these. I did and I am extremely happy with the decision. Get these strap locks they are a VITAL accessory.

The best locks.

By James

from San Diego, California

I have these locks on all four of my electric guitars. It's nice because i can use the same strap for all. I think these are the most popular locks out there. Most of the gigging guitar and bass players i know use these. They seem kind of expensive but when you think about what you would spend to fix a dropped guitar, they aren't too bad. They work great.

Worth The Money

By Andrew Barry

from Mechanicsburg, PA

I've ordered 3 of these in black, they came on time, and with a screw driver and a socket wrench they won't come off. I was tired of the straps falling off and my guitars hitting the ground. These are really worth it. I was confused at first on how to put them on, I couldn't figure out how to get the actual lock part apart from the part you screw into your guitar. What it is, you pull up on the part that locks with the washer and nut, you pull up, and it slides out. That way you can screw it into your guitar, slide it back on (it clicks, then locks so it wont slide back out).

Schaller Strap Locks = Solid!

By Brian Healy

from Flagstaff, AZ

I recently bought these strap locks for my Gibson Les Paul, which came with very small strap buttons. The strap locks are totally solid, and secure, and were very easy to install. I had read that the screws that came with the strap locks were slimmer than the factory Les Paul strap button screws, and thus, wouldn't be secure, which seemed to be true for the back/bottom factory hole. However, I used the longer screw of the two that came with the strap locks, and it screwed in tight and secure. No problem. The screw for the button near the neck was totally tight (the same size as the factory screw).

Love 'em. Noticably better quality than the cheap Chinese alternative for not much moolah.

By Lawrence Brown

from Houston, TX

Schaller is a German brand. These locks are made in Germany and feature beautiful craftsmanship and solid quality. The $30 price for the gold ones is not a lot more than the alternative product. After I picked up my special order gold Schallers at my local store I took down a pair of the competitors and they felt like tinfoil junk. If you want cheap, than ok, but if the price is in the same ballpark go for these.

The best!

By John Eoff

from Pottsville, AR

Someone gave these a bad review. He must have installed his strap locks backwards and upside down or something. I have always used Schaller strap locks and have had NO issues or problems with them. I have three pairs, one pair for each bass. My oldest pair is around twenty years old and still working like the day my brother bought them for me. You cannot go wrong with Schaller strap locks.

Great strap lock but has one design flaw

By Dan Nobles

from Charleston, SC

I have had a set of these on Epi Les Paul standard for over 10 years now. They work great and I've demonstrated the hold to people by holding the LP up by the strap and attempting to shake the guitar off the strap. It's never let the guitar drop. I think the strap itself would fail first. I also like to put my cord between the strap and guitar body to so the input jack doesn't get ripped out if I step on the cord and it works find for that. I also like the way it rotates on the stud instead of using ball bearing. The ball bearing will wear out or corrode over time. this system does not have that problem. I gave this 4 stars due to one design flaw. As you can see in the picture the part holding on to the strap is secured via a nut. This nut does have tendency to work itself loose fairly quickly. This could cause your guitar to fall. To fix this put a drop of tread lock (can be purchased at any auto parts store) on the tread before you install the nut. The ball part you pull to remove the strap does stick out a bit so might cause a problem with tight fitting cases if you leave your straps on the guitar in the case as I do. I never had this problem but something to consider.

Works great now after modification... for a new Gibson Les Paul

By KEVNI RAINWATER

from Ohio

Just bought these locks for my new Gibson Les Paul. The screws that came with the strap locks are slightly smaller and have a finer thread. They would probably screw in and possibly hold, but I want to use the same size threads for my LP. I'll need to (slightly)drill out their small hole to use my same screws, if possible. Other than that, I like em and may get another pair for my Fender. Update - The strap button at the neck has the same size screw as Schaller - I installed it with the original Gibson screw no problem. For the end of the Guitar I installed it by making a couple of easy modifications. Drilled the Schaller hole in their button to 11/64" and the larger Gibson screw will fit the hole perfectly. The screw head diameter must be ground off a little also to fit down into the button. It will now fit onto the Les Paul using the original Gibson screws. Works great for me.
